By the way, seen any EOD sent into possible IED locations before?
if we find the IED before they detonate we would sit and wait for EOD most of the time. we would never mess with them ourselves.
Damn that's badass, and thanks alot for serving too. I myself am joining the Marines, swore in last Tuesday and my shipping date to basic is, as of right now, July 19th, I'm really looking forward to it haha
thanks. enjoy the marines. we worked heavily with them over there and I have nothing but respect for them. most of the time the marines were our air support. nothing like having Huey and Cobra follow you around keeping the bad guys afraid to peek out.
BTW, seen hurt locker yet? Pretty awesome movie.
BTW, seen hurt locker yet? Pretty awesome movie.
unfortunately no its on my to do list though. school has been pwnin me for the last few months.
i did. those idiots you saw get out were the commander and his posse.
From what I recall, you're not supposed to stop for an IED because they were planting them in ways that would cause all the vehicles to stop and then trigger a secondary explosion while the vehicles were stationary.
Cool video, glad it didnt hurt you.
Looks like that white van set it off. What happened to it?
Looks like that white van set it off. What happened to it?
cracked windshield and everyone shit their pants. other than that nothing. IEDs are not very effective unless your up close and personal. they fail a lot. but then again when they actually work its horrible. I heard they also used AT nades. I guess AT nades are worse. There was one on youtube, damn, it hit the humvee with a direct hit.

Somebody fucking fails at setting up IEDs.
Do roadside bombs go off automatically, or are they detonated manually?
Do roadside bombs go off automatically, or are they detonated manually?
I'd think they're both. Some by remote, some by a type of trigger, etc. How loud are these, that one blew up pretty close by. (Pretty an understatement)
Isn't it the same place where other guy tested his UAC?
Good thing they didn't get hit.
Maybe if I weren't a goat-breeding, pig-fucking, woman-raping, intellectually flawed dirty radical muslim I would of hit you.
fixed
if at 0:20 that was you going 'Woooooooooooooo' I will paypal you all my monies.
lol it was. i was the gunner.
I'm pretty sure a shaped IED charge can penetrate that.
I have heard of nothing doing more than destroying the axles. the armor is about 4 inches thick on the bottom.
What happened to the truck/bus coming at you from the left side of the road?

Like they always talk about in movies. Yes, I know, pretty dumb question, but I was just wondering. And, has there been any other "near death" experiences?

And, has there been any other "near death" experiences?
lol thats a fair question. yea we played the "would you fuck so and so?" game a lot. but then again we were a bunch of grunts, its to be expected. i would say that about 95% of the time we were there (we were there 2 years.. long time btw) we were bored out of our mind. i think at one point we were so bored that we were actually debated the pros and cons of spartan life. this was around the time 300 came out. we didn't get the movie till about a month after it came out but almost everyone knew the story of the Battle of Thermopylae
that's fuckin awesome
I have heard of nothing doing more than destroying the axles. the armor is about 4 inches thick on the bottom.
Not to mention the bottom is sloped like the side of an Abrams.
I might be overestimating the insurgents and shit but it isn't that hard to wire two IEDs together and make one have a delayed trigger is it?
Dunno about any Delay trigger but all a trigger needs is two pieces of wood, couple pieces of metal, and there you have it, a Pressure trigger for detonating IED's Those insurgents make some elaborate things out of nothing
