Nah, it's just a backfire. But on all seriousness, glad you made it.
Also, my dad:

My dad worked in Western Afghanistan at the boarder crossing. He just got promoted to a desk job(or at least I think it is) in Kuwait at the Embassy. He never really elaborated on what he does, all I know is he's now the executive for all the boarder crossing points for the job he did.

He's the one on the left. This is back when they had to go to Torkem for some reason.
My dad isn't a soldier, he doesn't have to follow those rules.
He is... A Mercenary, and an ex-Navy Seal.
Also, he has shot a kid holding a gun at him.

Fucking awesome I think!
Are IED's detonated remotely by some guy watching or is it on a timer?
they can be triggered by a timer, remote(like a radio/cell phone), or self-detonated (pressure plate notice the 2 pieces of metal in the middle? when you drive over it/step on it it makes them touch and BOOM!)
wow i love you OP

Technically my dad is a Mercenary also, He's not in any of the services. Though he is a retired Airman. He works for a private contractor.
its me wearing this we were required to wear these things in iraq when we are in the turret. its flame retardant. biggest threat, believe it or not, is not from IEDs its from starting on fire after the IED. the insurgents like to mix in rocket fuel with the IEDs. makes a huge fireball when they go up. if they are crafty enough they will have the rocketfuel mix w/ diesel so it starts the vehicle on fire. that sucks. nothing like being under fire and trying to get as much shit out of the truck. you don't want to lose equipment to fire over there. it can be 6 months to a year before you get replacement parts sometimes. some things just never got replaced.
The monkey suit, eh?

My dad isn't even in an actual Company. He says its just a group of friends, that know large companies like the UN and other places, that then spread the word.
