• Other Universes: Do They Exist?
Then how did that arrive from nothing, it doesn't make sense.
Let's say you have 0. It's nothing. But out of this zero, you can pull any number as long as you pull the same negative number from it, and it will even out. 1 + (-1) = 0 Out of a zero, seemingly nothing, we can produce a one, "1", and also a negative one, "-1". In a similar fashion our universe could've formed from "nothing". This is why there is antimatter. It is matter that's opposite of our "regular" matter. If these two interfere then they will annihilate each other (and huge amounts of energy will be released). Antimatter has been proven to exist, but something is not right... Logically, we should be able to see an even spread of matter and antimatter in the universe (since it should add up to 0), but this is not the case. Antimatter is much much rarer in our observable universe. Why this is, and where this antimatter has gone, is one of the greatest problems we currently have in physics. This is not my field, I bet johnnymo can clear some of this up.
It's something far beyond our comprehention, We can't discuss about it yet. But yeah, Theory of multiverses fascinates me.
It's like saying "Is Religion Real?" yet we still have debates on such a topic.
Yeah but these topics affect people in different ways. Other universes and Wormholes way well exist, but we know we'll never discover them while we as individuals exist.
I don't really know. Even trying to contradict the very distance's between our planet and the next is enough to make your mind hurt. We're talking about one planet. In one Star system, In one cluster or nebula, In one galaxy, in one universe. I've sat up at night for ages, just trying to consider how small we are in relation to everything else out there. It was only about 300 years ago we stopped believing everything orbited the earth. This is only the beginning, We've been held back hundreds of years for thinking there is nothing else out there. it was only 42 years ago that humans landed a man on the moon. We have no way of telling if there's any other universe out there, or if we can get there. But I know one thing. We won't be going anywhere soon. /EndPhilosophicalRant
Other universes and Wormholes way well exist, but we know we'll never discover them while we as individuals exist.
wrong again
I don't really understand what another universe would actually consist in. Surely we'd just bring whatever new reality we discover into our current ontology and hence we'd just extend our 'universe' to accommodate it. Of course, 'universe' is a very sloppy, vulgar term and I don't really feel knowledgeable enough whatsoever to discuss it. And this is without even talking about the whole 'infinite possible worlds' thesis of David Lewis.
