But, DTkach, you're not paying attention. Before, they were playing in well lit areas. And it wasn't a problem. There was no "cheating" if someone won they won and they fucking dealt with it. In this episode they wandered into a dark alley and played peeakaboo with flashlights which would make it REALLY damn easy for David to just noclip in through the wall or turn off his invisibility for a funny "shocking" clip. Seriously, it doesn't take a huge genius to write a script like that. Maybe only parts - such as the alley way are scripted, and the rest are mad libbed.

You're not taking into consideration that you could probably do an entire run through by your SELF in about an hour, and yet they're taking weeks to film it all and wrap it all up. Why is this, again? Also, they cut out a LOT of the film. If you even bothered to play through the game once you'd see that sometimes they cut out shit that might have been funny to witness, and yet we're not able to because they cut it out. (Such as zombie ambushes not directed by David). Of course I'm not going to stop watching the episodes, for it has its moments through the terrible acting. On your hypothesis about how they you couldn't cheat in rock, paper, scissors, what if someone pressed the number key to 'hover' over the weapon, then when they saw the other players they selected it? Or they had fast weapon switch enabled and could've just pressed the button.

This is Barley.
We recorded all the footage at the beginning of the month, there was a good couple of hours of footage that Spike recorded down. The reason it takes so long for each episode to come out is because Spike has to render it down to 720p for me, then we upload it to my ftp, to which I have to download, edit and re-render. After all that, THEN I can upload.
Spike doesn't have a lot of time to upload, and me being the Canadian that I am. I have a shitty little thing called a bandwidth cap that charges me for every gig I go over. I've already hit my bandwidth cap with 10 days still left in the month. That is why the parts come in so slow.
As for being scripted. The Rock, Paper, Scissors scare wasn't scripted nor is any other part of the series. David doesn't fuck with you just because you're in the dark, infact he usually gets you when it's dim. We randomly did it there cause we were freaked out and didn't want to backtrack, we just did it to see who would take lead. Your 'scripted' logic is flawed since theres a bunch of scares that happen to me, that Spike doesn't even see. Wheres the comedy in not being able to see it? Theres even more of those in the unused footage, hence why it's not in there. No fun just hearing me freak out.

We originally were doing Afraid of Monsters original on Sven, we got through four parts before the admin of the Director's Cut server threw us a msg saying we could do DC on his server. I saw a few of the David Leatherhoff videos before and couldn't say no.
He passworded it for us for the short while that we played because he didn't want anybody jumping in and rushing through the levels on us. Hes a pretty awesome dude.
Since you're here, I just wanna tell you that fooling around in They Hunger with the character animations was the funniest thing I've seen all week.
So is David mostly scripted or is there some actual AI to it? For a while I thought it was just a few set events but there was some stuff there that made me think he was an actual player.
