If any of you have ever read The Death of a Salesman or The Great Gatsby both protagonists share the same kind of attitude. Any way thats how my cousin acts and sounds like this guy.
If I were you I would just go with the flow. Think of the things you'd like to see around your room that would remind you of things. I have a old Coca-cola mug filled with tickets, bracelets and other stuff from memorable events I have shared with my friends. Everything in my room suits me and I don't have to show it off to anybody.
Just be your age. I have a feeling knives and guns on the wall would look stupid. A rack would suit better. Especially stupid if you have white walls.
Pain jobs are nice. I have mine a deep but fun blue with a really nice and plushy blue carpet.

i want to order a few more band posters. all i have is a led zepplin poster

For hanging stuff on walls I for one like to show off. Signed posters, old posters no longer in print or rare and flags from all the countries I have visited. Cool stuff. Avoid game posters unless its something retro maybe?

how about some activities that people outside of those who live in someones basement like
if those were on a list with many activities on it, it wouldnt be a problem. nearly everyone like to game sometimes, and shoot at stuff. but if thats all you do your really wasting yourself

Maybe go into more depth about shooting like instead of airsoft, guns in general. NRA posters or hunting posters (if you don't have a problem with hunting)
Gaming is okay I guess but having too much without enough diversity would make it look bad to most others. Including a gamer such as I.
Try and find some more hobbies. join a sport, learn an instrument, get some band posters, learn a martial art. put up memorabilia or cool stuff from your past or cool junk you could find in a deserted field close by or a dump... seriously. Its a good idea for some people.

to be honest, I really hate cyan as the standard color but that's just personal preference

That sounds fair. I have nothing against guns and swords, just as long as there aren't a whole fucking dozen of them unsheathed and hanging from the ceiling.
