I dont know why i argue with you either. You seem to be a mentally retarded Canadian. Firstly, you drive a 'special edition' Comp-G FWD-shitbox Grand Prix and act like its actually a good car. FFS, they couldn't atleast make the thing rear wheel drive to try and distract people from the fact that its a Grand Prix that grandmothers everywhere love. Secondly, you enjoy bragging about mild winters when places hundreds of miles south of you apparently have the same amount of snowfall, along with similar levels of rain/ice. You also seem to think that you will die the second you take out all seasons in your mild winters. It may just be the FWD grannymobile, or you're a piss-poor driver. Either way, it's pretty silly when people several hundred miles south, driving similar wrong wheel drive Pontiacs, in similar winter conditions, do just fine with half bald all seasons. AA was once a fine place where everyone got along, 'till people like you started showing up :v: Slade Xanthas isn't much better. Fuck, everytime i see he/she/its title and that creeper avatar, i can't help but think it is the kind of person that's a bit odd in the head and collects animal dildo's or some other weird shit. Man, i've been part of this community for, what, five years now? And i've enjoyed it until recently. But fuck, the quality has sure gone down lately and i dont want to be a part of a community where a guy pretty much cant state his own opinion without a Handicapped Canadian and a dragon dealdo furrything bitching at them
honestly the only shit i've been seeing in here lately is you not being able to realise that your opinions aren't facts.
This is a very surreal thread and I have two points of contention here. The first will be addressed by parody. As an owner of a first car I have to say, I'm a better driver than you. I'm not going to passively aggressively suggest it, I'll be badass here and just flat out say it. My Fiat Panda can scale toothpicks, and parking on the curb will shatter your spine. Its hardcore because it only uses 3 wheels on roundabouts. Now sit there and cry while I use a paintbrush to apply blackboard paint to my car, because I'm epic. Yeah, parts of my car are loose but its not because a 90's Panda is a bad car, but because I don't need the help. Steering wheels? PFF! I use a spanner and if you don't like it, then its because you have strange swirls on your animal person Avatar. As a helpful suggestion to the OP. Turn off the damn phone when you drive. Luckily, in my experience, the worst that came of mobiles when driving was a broken hand because of one of you people not paying attention and pulling out in-front of me. Not everyone drives a safe car. Not only could you save yourself a fortune, you could save some poor bastard a lot of pain and inconvenience. Its not a toy, its a car and much more durable than you. You're not riding on the bus, you're in CHARGE of 2 tons of fast and heavy. Those two things can do a lot of damage so you've been given, under the law, a fantastic amount of responsibility. This is why you're required to have a license. I know it must be agonizing to leave the phone for the 7 seconds it takes to pull over and do what you need to do. It really is a hard life, I know. You just have to bear with it.
Throwing around insults and talking shit about other people's cars isn't gonna improve the "community" either.
You can say the same thing to WolvesSoulz. The community was a hell of a lot better before he started causing arguments. I generally don't insult or talk shit about other people's cars, until someone else starts doing that towards me. These issue's did not happen until just recently. It's when you start attacking my opinion that their becomes an issue. If I say "If you're a good driver, you can handle all season's year round" You don't have to come along and say "rabble rabble rabble, you've never experienced a real winter, rabble rabble northern canada, ice snow cats and dogs falling" You can say "I disagree and feel that it is important to use summer tires during summer, and switching to winter tires during the winter." Then, I can reply "I've personally had great luck using my all seasons. If you buy a good all season, you should have good luck as well. But hey, if you like the extra security of a true snow tire, that's great"
Stop.
You stop. It's pretty bad when a community has gone so far downhill that users consider advice about how to stop arguments dumb. This is a lot like what happened to NASIOC. Was once a nice place, new people were welcome, new ideas were welcome. Now it's full of a bunch of jackasses that will flame the hell out of you for trying something new. I, personally, like how my paintjob came out. I got the color i wanted, as well as got a chance to fix dents/dings, for around $80 when including every last thing i bought to do it. If I buy a new bumper, i can paint it for about $25. Post about it here? Instantly get flamed. This community has gone to shit. Theres still a few good people, though not nearly enough to make it worth staying
then get out, there's definitely nobody forcing you to stay here.
why cant everyone get along :((

Just because some people like something one way doesn't mean everyone else does. You're arguing fucking opinions and expect people to agree with yours, newsflash you're basically arguing politics and religion. Facepunch's AA is very wildly diverse across the car enthusiast world and it's incredibly likely most of us won't have the same opinions and likes as each other.
I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY WE CAN'T ALL BE BROS. GOD DAMN. Everyone here is pretty cool, and imo, you used to be pretty cool too FordLord, I dunno what happened but you seem to be shitting up the place. Just calm down, and don't take shit said on the internet seriously, like everyone else.
Let me take this time to say one thing: Let it Be. I think every member here at AA has been in an argument about something. This doesn't mean you have to make a dramatic "leave". It doesn't do anything but make you seem foolish, especially if you really want to return but now can't, because you messed up. I've had my share of stupid arguments here. HELL, I haven't even posted one thing about my car! I think I'm the only person who hasn't posted pictures of my car, something I am working on, or something I did, because my car (fortunately) doesn't need repairs or upgrades. I'm just here for the ride, and to comment on certain questions or discussions. On Original Content, I basically have nothing. While you, FordLord (and bradley, if you are reading this), have posted tons of useful info, pics of your cars and what you are working on, etc... Please, don't go off into a stomping fit. I enjoyed reading your posts. also also, can you please change your avatar back to the chevy truck? I really liked it. :(
You were "flamed" because you said your paintjob was better than OEM even though you used a roller :v:
I actually never said that, theres even a post pointing that out :v: People have such poor reading skills at times. [editline]20th November 2013[/editline]
also also, can you please change your avatar back to the chevy truck? I really liked it. :(
I can do that at some point. I was up last night, trying to waste a few hours waiting for a three minute video to upload, and came up with that thing
Not to side with anything, but painting with a roller is a car painting practice, an old one that is never used - but still - just as boats in the 60's were sometimes painted with a brush and then had a mirror finish. The appropriate method is oil based paints and thinner. Roll it on with a low matt roller, then let it sit. Then you roll another coat, then color sand the hell out of it to try to get the color to match all over and smooth the finish, then clear coat, then wet sand and polish. It doesn't last as long as a multi-coat job, but it does work. I paint lots of engine covers for restored boats with a roller, but that's just to preserve the original method. It takes a lot of color sanding to get a light blue correct. They had wonderful lead based paint back then that laid down a little better on its own. My landlord for my shop recently painted a VW bus, and a Jensen Interceptor with a roller, and an off-white oil by Rustoleum (cheap as hell). He spent longer on it, and the roller splatter all over the shop were worse than overspray it seemed, but it looked fine. Also, I feel like with the increase of water-based paints being used on cars, using a brush and roller on a car may be common practice. Won't last long, but I think we'll see more of it.
If you roll on enough coats you can sand it down to a mirror finish.
