You're doing it wrong.
You're doing it wrong.
Perhaps seriously was the wrong word.
My username is relevant. Not going to read through the whole thread but has anyone posted any T.I.?
I'm getting lots of Kid Cudi, bought Man on the Moon: End of Days and The Legend of Mr. Rager, and a friend gave me a USB stick of his mixtape or a bunch of singles I've never heard before.
Gonna have to recommend Symphonies by Dan Black and Kid Cud.

I was riding with my lady friend in her car, she started bumping some Nicki, I was surprised. She's pretty good.
Man I love Pete Philly & Perquisite .
Amsterdam hiphop is pretty chill.

Nicki Minaj is good. Her album was kind of lame though.
I was just thinking, Facepunch in general seems a lot more tolerant of rap music than they were a few years ago, it used to be all "rap is (c)rap throw away the rappers" and now there's usually at least as many people who are willing to defend it. I wonder why that is.
Two reasons I thought up:
-FPers are getting older and less cliquey
-With people like Drake and Kanye and Kid Cudi a lot of radio rap has become less threatening and less associated with the hood
I wouldn't use Drake as an example. People don't think of him like you think they do. I agree with the second part, that rap has been kind of refreshing lately since it has moved away from gang banging intolerable music that it used to be.

I guess I am just being biased because I don't enjoy listening to him.

That has nothing to do with what he said though. Drake is not very "hood" oriented. Aka, he's not as scary to parents and the general public.

He took what I said the wrong way. I didn't mean Drake was "hood" music. I meant I don't think Drake is as good or comparable with Kid Cudi or Lil Wayne ect.

Kid Cudi can't rap very well, and Drake ghostwrites for Lil Wayne. But like he said that's not what I was talking about.
And you're way off base if you think millions of white people don't love Drake ;)
bought a copy of lasers early :D
shit is soooo cash

Drake is pretty much well liked among most rap consumers. Not saying everyone likes him, but most the people who don't tend to be underground junkies and stuff.

I dislike him because he's practically lil wayne jr. and i also dislike lil wayne
They're pretty different. I mean there's always going to be some sharing of ideas between guys who work together a lot but Drake's schtick seems mainly to be making non-threatening pop songs and seducing white girls while Lil Wanye's thing is being really weird and making wonky punchline jokes.

Drake isn't like Wayne at all. If you say that you don't listen to Wayne or Drake at all. Maybe if you did, you would see they aren't nearly as bad as a lot of people like to put off. I'll give it that Wayne has quite a few obnoxious and rather shitty songs under his belt, but he has a few good ones too.

He has a whole album where he just takes songs and spits maybe one verse on it lol. About to release another too.
Drake is completely different than Lil' Wayne. I find him better imo. Drake is a good writer but oh god please don't make him freestyle.. unless he has his blackberry of course hahaha
