Watch the Throne is a disappointing when you consider you're listening to two of hiphop's biggest names
I think it's amazing, hell of the lyrics are deep as fuck

Fucking love this song
My opinions were the exact reverse of yours with me loving mbdtf and blueprint 3 immensely, I expected a hit seeing as both of their track records far exceed this quality, even excluding mbdtf, and blueprint 3. It's not a terrible album, just neither of their best work imho.

heh, okay niggas in paris is pretty good, the rest of the album is slowly growing on me
Ha, opinions. I get the impression you're disappointed with the album because of the production though, and not Jay or Kanye themselves. I've also seen quite a few people say overall the beats were lackluster, and that WTT pales in comparison to previous albums in that regard. I agree with that. If you're talking beats, I would definitely say WTT is disappointing.
There's a few good beats though, N----s In Paris being my favorite right now.
Man... All the tracks on WTT felt disappointing after No Church in the Wild.
It's a fun album and you can tell it's supposed to be over-the-top bragging, but I still get kind of unnerved by Jay-Z seriously comparing himself to Biggie.

Why? He's more than earned it by now.
Biggie was huge, but hip hop fans will elevate pretty much anyone to god status if they die.

WTT is an amazing album.
I also just sat down and listened to Get Rich Or Die Tryin' for the first time in years. It's really, really fucking good.
But I also consider their previous releases "The Blueprint 3" and "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy". Those didn't amaze me, so I didn't expect to be amazed by "Watch The Throne". My expectations are pretty much "Oh, there's gonna be a few good joints on there; with Jay killing it lyrically throughout the album." And I have not been disappointed.
bp3 and mbdtf were amazing
and WTT is pretty damn good too, especially the lyrics in some of the songs geezz

One of the best
Apparently he had a nervous breakdown, but after he recovered from it he became super cheerful, which is why his newer stuff is so upbeat and a bit out there. I might be wrong in believing this, not sure it comes from a reliable source.
Sounds right, I can see that happening to him
