this
I really want to grab a $30 ticket for him, he's playing near me at the Baltimore Soundstage (410 Represent) on Oct. 13 I believe. [editline]24th September 2011[/editline] Oh yeah, almost forgot.
I FUCKING LOVE GANGSTARR, also: Kid Cudi should collab with Incubus, especially on aqueous transmission, that would be an amazing album/comeback
thread is now about sideline story~~~ Really wish Return of Simba and a few other songs had made it. I think Lights please among another song or two were too old to be on the album, but they were still good regardless.. Well actually I guess he felt kind of obliged to put Lights please on the album, since its what got him signed..

I know it's probably been posted many times before, but I love this song.
This is a really unpopular opinion but I really don't understand why people think Guru was a great rapper, he says such dumb and awkward shit "Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is" "Eenie meenie, minie moe / I wreck the mic like a pimp pimps hoes" What the fuck is that [editline]25th September 2011[/editline] That's not even a similie, you might as well say "I wreck the mic like a truck driver drives trucks"
the album this song is from is free and some decent tracks on it.
where to go if interested in making/producing/whatever rap/hip hop beats?

I liked that. He kept it simple and didn't bother with pushing the boundries of rhyming. Also Premier. Gangstarr wouldn't be shit without DJ Premier.

Heard it on this
Why do I not know more about these people?
He kept it simple. I liked that. He kept it simple and didn't bother with pushing the boundries of rhyming. Also Premier. Gangstarr wouldn't be shit without DJ Premier.
Yeah but there's a difference between keeping it simple and just sucking imo. Guru always seemed like a shitty version of Jeru the Damaja. But yeah it's probably Premier.
Goddamn, Wu-Tang is even better live. So much energy.
Why do I not know more about these people?
I only know about them from Dead Rising but besides the fantastic Gone Guru the rest of the album is also pretty cool. Mr. California is probably my other favorite song.
god damn this album is gonna be hot
Haha okay, how many yall listen to Celph Titled? This shit is hilarious. Okay. Celph Titled's been around for a while, like 15 years probably. Now, for a long time he's been identifying himself as a Cuban, and saying the n-word. Here's what he looked like: Now, general rap consensus is that latinos are OK to say the n-word. Except Celph isn't latino, he's white--Cubans can come in Spanish (white), latino, and black ("afro-cuban") varieties, and Celph's schtick kind of banked on people not knowing the difference. But he kind of got away with it by being huge, loud, and intimidating. Here's the funny part, though, recently he's conspicuously stopped saying the n-word, AND... ...his hair and beard are suddenly light brown/red now. Was he dyeing them the whole time?
Yeah but there's a difference between keeping it simple and just sucking imo. Guru always seemed like a shitty version of Jeru the Damaja.
