Is Pop-rap and/or Hip-pop and/or Alternative hip-hop allowed in this thread?
That first one had me crackin up. Funny shit
That first one had me crackin up. Funny shit
The song or my bad attempt at naming the genre?
The song
I'm not sure if that's good or bad, but I think I can guess.
Hip-pop lol sounds like an old man saying hip-hop
Jesus Christ Pitchfork panned Camp hard, it's like a fucking fatality. I still need to listen to it to make my own mind up though since they can be real bastards at times.
I wouldn't even consider Pitchfork's write-ups reviews. Also Wale is a bro:
You might agree with this; you might not. One person who certainly doesn’t: Wale, who went on an extended Twitter rant first at the general public and then at site founder Ryan Schreiber. Here it is: Pitchfork…we don’t believe u…u need more people …yall can’t talk bout this culture, cuz yall not part of it @ryanpitchfork yall know too much…I haven’t even read yall little review…I just know how you guys operate. @ryanpitchfork yall critique with little to know knowledge…eager for an opportunity to sound like some “tastemaker”..when we all know @ryanpitchfork as far as hiphop goes, yall just ride a new n—-s wave until they have mainstream success..well done, we don’t care tho Calling Childish Gambino an exemplar of hip-hop is kind of like calling the Lonely Island an exemplar of R&B. But if anyone was going to jump to Glover’s Twitter defense, it might as well be Wale, who did a song with him. (Something tells us whoever manages fellow collaborator Adele’s Twitter isn’t getting into this.) Ryan responded: People acting like we only panned Camp because Glover rips Pitchfork forgot about that line in Yonkers. http://twitpic.com/7myje3 @Wale Oh, this is all about you now? Huh. Didn’t mean to hurt your feelings, bro. We write reviews for listeners, not artists. @Thrillcall pretty wild coming from a rapper who namechecked pitchfork while defending another rapper who namechecked pitchfork TEAM AFFILIATION: I’m Childish Gambino-agnostic, and since this is supposed to be a disclaimer, have spoken to a few Pitchfork writers online. I guess that makes me teamless? But as a writer, I’d hope Wale could actually read the review before complaining, or at least pretend he did, no? DRAMA RATING: 2/5. Inside baseball. But bizarre!
[editline]2nd December 2011[/editline] Oh yeah this is the source: http://popdust.com/2011/12/02/wale-childish-gambino-pitchfork/
Buddy of mine went to Kanye's and Jay Z's Watch the Throne tour at the United center in Chicago. Their setlist was 48 songs long. They played Niggas in paris EIGHT TIMES
Jesus Christ Pitchfork panned Camp hard, it's like a fucking fatality. I still need to listen to it to make my own mind up though since they can be real bastards at times.
isnt pitchfork a hipster thing
Yeah they're pretty pretentious. They report on some absolutely fantastic underlooked music but a lot of their reviews are some of the most pretentious wankery you will ever read
isnt pitchfork a hipster thing
Kind of they like to try and pretend their "tastemakers".
Jesus Christ Pitchfork panned Camp hard, it's like a fucking fatality. I still need to listen to it to make my own mind up though since they can be real bastards at times.
Give it a shot. From what I've seen, you either love it or you hate it. I loved it. Top 3 Hip Hop albums of the year for me... 1. Oneirology 2. Section.80 3. Camp
Kind of they like to try and pretend their "tastemakers".
oh thanks
Loving "Camp" right now. Gambino's great.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqMBZUKm3sQ&feature=player_detailpage#t=117s Roc Marciano's second verse on this shit (timestamped) is fucking my brain through my ears right now holy omg [editline]4th December 2011[/editline]
i urge you all to listen to this guy, he's brilliant
Hmm, dude's not much of a lyricist (the chorus is pretty bad especially). Nice production & heart though. [editline]4th December 2011[/editline] Haha wait what the eff @ the ending D:
This has to be one of the most amazing beats I've ever heard, especially if you have good headphones/buds.
Stoupe's got the classical/latin/movie soundtrack sample beat formula down for sure. This is still my favorite one of his beats though: [editline]4th December 2011[/editline] also this unt this
Those are all great but 2 is incredible. Its like some nutcracker shit Eve of War still gotta be my favorite stoupe instrumental
Made a thread for some rappers called "The Palmer Squares." check em out.
Stoupe is dope.

Posting beats instead of songs would be much easier for me. I'll do that for the next few pages.
Sick song. I'm having trouble finding anything else by him though. Any pointers?
never heard of him up until this song so I don't know where you could find more of him.
Hmm, dude's not much of a lyricist (the chorus is pretty bad especially). Nice production & heart though.
his lyrics aren't the greatest yea but i really like the chorus, that's just me.
I kinda like his lyrics. I think his delivery is more what's fuckin him up.
