he'd be horrorcore like gravediggaz, some geto boyz, necro/illbill; deathcore is metalish shit
'twas allegory really, not literal. the way he raps about violent shit all the time. on another note, i had some white friends before that bumped the shit outta him. that and tech n9ne lol.
'twas
Please don't say this. This is a hip hop thread not a renaissance faire

Probably the best Tupac performance ever. We out on bail.
No but do tell.
Basically Common made a song that dissed soft hip hop, drake took it personal dissed common in this song: So Common remixed it with this it's basically really stupid
Of course it was going to happen like this, Drake thought to himself as he exited the dressing room of the Gap. It was the only way. Common was right there, blocking his path to the three-way mirror, smirking. His head was so shiny. Drake wanted to punch him in it. “Comm,” he said, doing his best not to spit as he uttered his sworn enemy’s name. “I thought I might find you.” “Surprised you even dared look for sweaters here, motherfucker,” Common said. He was so menacing in his all-khaki outfit. Drake steeled himself. “There was a sale. I’m not afraid of you,” he said. His lip was trembling. Was it fear? Or something else? “Your friends aren’t here to protect you, Aubrey. You can’t run. I’ve got Maya Angelou in the parking lot, and she’s strapped with the chopper.” His voice was so golden and buttery, like a croissant. “We both know you’re the softest rapper in the game.” Like lightning, his hand grabbed Drake’s chest. It was so soft. “No,” Drake said, “You are!” He grabbed Common’s chest right back. It was even softer. Common couldn’t say anything. He’d lost, and he knew it. “Argh!” he screamed, as he jerked his hand away from Drake’s chest. Drake kept squeezing, savoring his victory.
The beef might be stupid but this came of it.

Anyone going to any rap gigs in the future?
I'm seeing Odd Future in March, saw Das Racist a few months ago. They were fucking good.

Maybe it's over-analytical but holy fuck this was a good read: http://www.tinymixtapes.com/column/what-03
Anyone going to any rap gigs in the future?
haven't found one worth going to yet, but the year just started so i guess announcements will be made for them later on.
Anyone going to any rap gigs in the future?
We hardly ever get any here. Last one I gave a shit about was about 3 different soulja boy clones and Ugod as the final act.

Not wanting to sound condescending but can anyone recommend some reasonably mature and thought-out rap artists (in terms of lyrics)? I like Eminem's Space Bound and Love the Way You Lie, so stuff like that I guess. I don't like the "yo nigger i'm whack and i have a big dick" shit that a lot of rap seems to be.

Listen to some Atmosphere, Macklemore, and Drake. Please don't critique something you know little about when you ask for suggestions next time. It is condescending and passive-aggressive. I fear the others (read: TH89) won't be so easy on you as I am. Also "yo nigger i'm whack and i have a big dick" seems like a really interesting lyric, I'd love to listen to that from an actual rapper and song. [editline]18th January 2012[/editline]
Vinnie Paz and Jedi Mind Tricks, personal favourites.
If this a joke or something it's pretty good. Vinnie Paz called Kanye West a "fag rapper", so by extension he probably hates most mainstream rappers in touch with their sensitive feelings. Definitely the polar opposite of Eminem.

It's not in him to call himself wack. Closest is Lil B, but I've never heard him say that n word.
I dunno, Sean P always struck me as the battle rapcat that never takes it too seriously. His punchlines are just downright silly sometimes haha
Nothing compares to Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth's T.R.O.Y.
