Yeah, I mean honestly, modest artists are few and far between now a days rather they'd like to admit it or not. I mean I know Kanye takes it to a new level, but people just like to hop on the douche bag hate bandwagon and ignore his music and how innovative it is.
I think people forget how many rock stars are and were douchebags. It's not like Kanye is spearheading this world of big-headed self righteousness.

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was without question Kanye's best album. Every song had so much work put into it. It isn't hard to tell that he delivered the best rap album of the year.

the only songs on mbdtf that are in my opinion comparable to his old stuff are POWER, Monster, So Appalled, and Blame Game.
The rest are either comprised of him singing (read: not hip-hop) or are raped by post-processing

Part of being a good producer is knowing what other artists would complement a song and coaching them to give their best performance. Kanye was directing every part of this album, he deserves a fair amount of credit for the guest performances.
