Who wants to get an apartment with me over summer because I'm going to be homeless soon Everyone's invited and it'll be the most well defended apartment ever.

oh my god classic firearms has a $799 AR back in stock
I'm tempted to grab it but I've never heard of MMC, despite the fact that they apparently operate out of my home state.
I'm tempted to grab it but I've never heard of MMC, despite the fact that they apparently operate out of my home state.
they're apparently a small machining company that just started making AR's. Their first batch were hit-or-miss, but this batch they're making now are supposed to be great for their price. I have no idea if thats true or not.
I suppose I'll wait for my next paycheck and see what I can dig up on them in the meantime. Hopefully my state won't go nuts and start banning 30 mags between now and then.
Damn I'd like to own a gun.
Almost finished my new storage solution Need to touch up the missed spots, but most importantly the rusty parts are sanded and protected. Other can is full of nugget food. Bury in yard y/n?
Damn I'd like to own a gun.
I'd give a lot for a .22 bolt action, a thousand rounds of ammo and a few targets. I have somewhere where I could shoot it safely. But noooo, no guns for me. Thanks France!
Damn I'd like to own a gun.
you should buy one guns are cool
I'm having the Magnum-fever again, anyone of you got any experience with the L.A.R Grizzly .45 Winchester Magnum? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5aZtJxqk9aA
Damn I'd like to own a gun.
Get a Makarov, sexy Soviet pistol
If it wasn't such a hazzle to get the license in Finland I'd probably buy a gun. I think some sort of revolver would be hella nice.

Yeah, I think they'll impose their state religion before they ban a gun. Also... Fucking Mattv.. now I'm hungry...
Well, I went ahead and did it: No 590A1s available locally, so I'll have to order me one.
Very sexual.

Dumb question from a man who is semi-oblivious to how a bullet works But if you get yourself a bullet and a hammer, can you actually fire it by just hitting the primer with the hammer ?
Dumb question from a man who is semi-oblivious to how a bullet works But if you get yourself a bullet and a hammer, can you actually fire it by just hitting the primer with the hammer ?
No because the hammer will just smack the back of the casing without doing anything. If you put a pin between the primer and the hammer it may go off, but even then without a barrel it won't actually do anything. The powder will go off, the bullet will flop out and lose velocity pretty damned quick.
More than likely the brass cartridge will explode and injure you, but it could still propel the bullet some distance.
Dumb question from a man who is semi-oblivious to how a bullet works But if you get yourself a bullet and a hammer, can you actually fire it by just hitting the primer with the hammer ?
For multiple reasons, no. With a hammer alone, the base of the primer is too small for the hammer to puncture and ignite, causing the flame to ignite the powder. Second, if you hit it with a screw, as a pointier end, the brass wouldn't have significant force to keep the casing intact, and would explode in your hand, causing minor burns and lacerations of your exposed areas. Third.... why would you want to...? Oh, and that's not really a dumb question. Mythbusters did a tangentially-related question, where they put loaded brass in a fire as well as an oven to see what would happen to the rounds. Not much.
