I don't know if I'm getting the Persian ammo mixed up with Pakistani ammo, but if you have a Hakim or any other semi-automatic 8mm, then you should not use this stuff in it. I've read that it's potentially 'splodey.
Stick to bolt actions. Might get a box for my K98k, but what they say about "hangfires to be expected" kind of makes me think this stuff should be a good bit cheaper.

Page 122, jesus christ that is some serious gun art.
Tried out the stripper clips for my Mosin today with the bolt out. Some of the clips are extremely tight and don't even want to insert fully into the gun, is there anything I can do about this? And what causes the clip to pop out when it's fully loaded, I only managed to get it to do it once.
I have a newfound respect for every Ivan who had to try to manage this shit while getting shot at by Germans.

Buy Russian clips, the Chinese ones are garbage. If you got chinese one, just use them over and over until they start to wear in. also make sure you're loading properly.
also make sure you're loading properly.
I loaded the rounds into the clip pyramid-style, then fed them in by gripping the top one with my thumb on the base and my index finger curled under the bullet. That seem correct?
I'll look into finding Russian ones, thanks. These are nothing like Lee-Enfield or Mauser strippers, those are a breeze to use.
You also have to make sure that the rims are all overlapping the same way and then you load it in the correct way or you'll get rim lock and that's annoying.
Is this a thing? I was under the impression that you're supposed to load them with the middle round 'on top' and then subsequent rounds underneath, like the way they were factory-loaded by the Soviets.
I load it with one round's rim over the last, and if I accidentally have one under the rounds stop feeding from the clip, and also won't go up the feedramp, instead they lock up and the nose falls into the magwell and won't move.

Same for me, I've never tried pyramid style, though.
No because the hammer will just smack the back of the casing without doing anything. If you put a pin between the primer and the hammer it may go off, but even then without a barrel it won't actually do anything. The powder will go off, the bullet will flop out and lose velocity pretty damned quick.
Shit my perfect asassination plan proves useless
Debating on selling my M1A.
.45 Win Mag? Have fun finding ammo, I think I've heard about that calibre once before.
I know there are casings for it in Norway so it isn't impossible, I *ONLY* need to become an active shooter (6 months membership) pass a required safety course and send an application for the gun, then I can buy it for about 1000$ if it's still for sale by then.
I wish I owned a firearm just for the sake of it. At some point my father was supposed to get a rifle and render it harmless by taking out several internal parts/severely breaking the firing mechanism, which apparently is legal in France because you can own a firearm as long as it's non-functional, not repairable and for the sake of collection only.

Don't do that

Flee to Switzerland, it's the only option.
Colt is moving their AR plant to Texas.
Gentlemen, yesterday was a sad day. As you guys are aware, im PCS'ing to commifornia, so obviously i shouldnt bring all the guns, instead i left them with my dad, who has promised to oil them and maintain them, on grounds that he can shoot them whenever. I was going to bring my mosin and 1911, but after packing the car, the mosin wouldnt fit, so alas, my trusty 1911 is the only weapon accompanying me to this communist hippy wasteland.
Atleast you have one layer of protection and merriment in the unspeakable region of our country! You should be able to get a Mosin out there for dirt cheap, though, still.

one of my rounds of Ukrainian surplus 7.62x54 just split inside my M38. Had to drop the cleaning rod down the barrel a few times and then put the SKS cleaning rod on top of it and tap it while yanking the bolt to get it unstuck
Until you have one of every model of Mosin, you don't have enough.
I want a tsarist mosin and a pre-1900 mosin.

I shall not stop until I have a Mosin that was personally cuddled by Simo Hayha
Thinking about a Ruger GP100 4" .357 as a first general purpose revolver. Any thoughts or recommendations?
Thinking about a Ruger GP100 4" .357 as a first general purpose revolver. Any thoughts or recommendations?
i have the gp100's lil brother, a ruger sp101 3" .357, they are very similar. i've never handled a gp100, but i can say that i love my sp101. my first pistol was a 22, then i bought a 9mm, then more recently i bought the .357. Alot of people recommend starting at a smallish caliber to hone your skills and then upgrade over time.. revolvers are different though.. (obviously). although you can also shoot .38 specials through a gp100, so it wouldn't be a bad first handgun imo. depends on if you plan on concealing it or not. i don't think that would be a good gun to ccw at all. i carry mine, but 3" is almost cutting it for being too large. the gp100 would make a nice trail gun i think. rugers are built like tanks and will last forever.
For how much?
Probably ~$2000-2500 with the scope and 6x 20rd mags
Reason?
I'm utterly bored with it. This past weekend was the first time I've shot it since November or early December. I could barely be bothered enough to put a full mag through it. Ended up unloading the second mag to fill Garand clips (Garand is in .308).
I have a 91/30 and it was fun until i built another 54R gun, They're not as god tier as everyone says they are in my opinion. I prefers da k98

Yeah I've shot enough of my friends mosins to know honestly, it's a shitty rifle that's only popular because of its price
Ill buy one day for like $100 but that's it
Waiting for them mad mosineer replies :>

Just wondering: The reason I'm considering the GP100 is because I hear it handles 357s much better than the SP101. How comfortably (relatively to other revolvers) does the SP101 handle 357s?
