Firearms X: Day 6,793; Nodak spud still on back order

I hate to bring this up, but someone over in Mass Debate is claiming New York has started confiscating all guns from law-abiding gun owners for no stated reason other than "because you can't have them." I asked him for a source but MD is very slow these days, and Google isn't turning up anything other than some isolated cases of permit revocation. Do any of you know anything about this? I hate to sour the mood but I'm really curious.
Actually on most rifles you can switch the ejection to the left side... It's just that it requires a disassembly and can't be done on the fly for offhand firing (a thing you won't ever do)
That's why I specified the older styles like those of the AUG and SA80s. They were RHO for the first gen before they included a second firing port that could be reassembled to after a field strip.
PTR91 owners - how do you like them? I'm feeling the need for some .308 fun.
my cetme is close enough
they're awesome. i just would love to swap my rear sights for the hk drum sights
So I got my CMP M1 Carbine stock in today, and it is horrible. The stock won't fit with the action, and the upper handguard won't fit into the gun or sit properly with the stock. There is a big lip from the upper handguard aligning with the stock, and the wood grain/color on both is badly matched. 5/10 because they are the only place that newly manufactures WWII spec stocks. Ridge, how does yours fit? Did it come with the little metal piece that locks the barrel band onto the gun?
Yeah, mine came with that little clip.
Can you show me where you are having fitment issues?

I've been looking at them, too. Cheap battle rifles. Only downside is they'll beat the shit out of the brass, then launch it half a mile.
keltec RFB master race
You guys have probably seen it, but I had to share;

(dat easily removable barrel)
SUOMI BUILD :V
What caliber is that in, 9mm?
I WANT ONE, how much did the build cost?
about 300 $, you need to weld, cut and other stoof though. kits are usually 100 $ with fucked up receivers so i spent 300 and got a fresh receiver and barrel extension.
the trigger mech..... in this gun.... is probably harder to put together than the g11's mech.
Why not just buy a TNW one?
Okay, I'm planning to buy a cheap-ass shotgun for skeet shooting, but I can't decide between a Mossberg 500 and Remington 870. Which should I get?

The Mossberg feels like junk, but costs less and comes with 3 chokes. The Remington will rust in a few hours if it gets rained on, and only comes with 1 choke, but feels sturdier.
If you can find one, get a Winchester SXP instead, it'll only be about $50 more than the Remington, and it's a better gun than either of them.

If it were me, I'd get a bottom dollar Maverick 88 (a cheap, Norinco made Moss 500) and then do what you want to it, all Moss 500 parts fit, stocks, etc...
If you want a nicer shotgun, get a mid level or better Remington 870 Mag/ Super Mag. That's my opinion though.
Semi Autos are a whole different ballgame. You can always get a couple NEF/H&R Single Shot shotguns/Handi-Rifles.

...Did you just call a Maverick 88 a NORINCO MADE MOSS500?
They're the 'economic' model of the 500, made by Mossberg, although assembled in Mexico if I remember correctly.
On the subject of cheap/midrange shotguns, Maverick 88 for cheap.
Mossberg 500/Remington 870/Winchester 1300/Mossberg 590/Ithaca Model 37 for mid-range.
You can find all of those shotguns for cheap when they're used, especially a I37 or the 88.
The only complaints I have about the mosin are the Sights and the Bolt.
However, it costs 90-130$, and it goes bang when you pull the trigger.
lol

I GIT IT NOW
Hardeeharrharrr
I also thought about just saving enough so I can get a Saiga, just so I can see the club members' reactions when I bring it to the club to shoot skeet.
I may look into Norinco and Winchester a bit more.
It has an interesting finish.

Norinco pumps are shit, and STAY AWAY FROM THE NORINCO 780 HOMELAND SECURITY! There was a dealer who sold them here for $80 with no refunds, no warranty, because they've been known to literally EXPLODE. Look for Dominion Arms instead, same Chinese shit, but their Grizzly gets pretty good reviews, and people here like them because you can get them with 8.5" barrels and they're still non-restricted.

So if I were to just reweld the original receiver shortened to semi-auto bolt specifications and then just weld a bar in to prevent automatic conversion, I'd be good?
I mean, beyond the obvious of buying a semi bolt and a barrel extension.

Yep, $360 gets you an SKS and 1440 rounds of ammo. Keeping the true north strong and free, one Chinese bullet at a time. I just hope that deal's still on when I move out and the gun isn't banned by then.
Also I'm having a bit of a dilemma. Remember I mentioned I was getting that great deal on a P226 with a .22 conversion kit? Well a place nearby got in the stainless steel P226 with rosewood grips, which is sexy as fuck, but it costs $300 more than I'm paying for a normal P226 with a .22 kit. The stainless also has night sights and an SRT, which the other one does not, but the other costs way less for essentially 2 guns. But the stainless looks so sexy... The stainless is also actually in stock right now, whereas the other one has a nebulous delivery date of "this summer (hopefully)," and they've already delayed that from April to the summer, and have a history of delaying shit for sometimes months. The normal one is also in Alberta, and has to be shipped here when it gets in, whereas I could probably have the stainless by the end of next week.

Buy the ammunition...
Hm. Local gun store has an Iver Johnson single shot 12ga with the barrel chopped down to 18.5" for $80. The metal all looks really good but the wood has seen better days.
generally if any gun, no matter what it is, is under $100 i buy it
I want it for making silly 12 gauge loads
