This is as stupid as the zombie bullets.
Hey, do YOU see any zombies around? I don't, so they must work.
If I get a carbine length AR and take off the flash suppressor, will that take to the barrel length below the legal minimum length?
My .45
Also; do you guys know much of anything about the 1911, sn wise? I was looking at the serial, and something just doesn't add up. The frame and slide are both Colt-made, with a sn of 120xxx; but I was told it was an M1911A1. All the dating and serial number checking I've found has concluded that it is infact not, and was made between 1915 and 1918. 9 to 6 years before the a1 revisions were introduced. Can anyone back up either side of the coin I'm on?

Dependent upon condition, I would say yes; but 1911s are finicky in that regard. Either way, I couldn't really care less about the value, to be 100%. It's been in the family since whomever in my family purchased it, and I have all the intentions in the world of keeping it that way. I requested it with the purpose of doing competitive shooting with it, though; in which case I'm not going to jeopardize the value of the gun by shooting it repetitively and constantly if it's a more-rare firearm. I'm mostly just curious if someone can verify my findings vs. what I've been told by my grandfather about it.
As much as I think the Chiappa Rhino 60DS looks ridiculous, I hear the new model fires 9mm as well as .357 and .38. Why can't S&W do something smart like that on the x86 platform?
If I get a carbine length AR and take off the flash suppressor, will that take to the barrel length below the legal minimum length?
16" carbine length barrels will have screw off flash hiders. They will still be legal length without one. 14.5" carbine length barrels will have welded flash hiders.
Hey, do YOU see any zombies around? I don't, so they must work.
Shit, you got me there
This is as stupid as the zombie bullets.
I don't know man, buckshot made of depleted uranium seems like a pretty practical purchase to me.
Now DU slugs, I could see myself picking up.
My apartment leasing office has my AK barrel because they delivered while I wasn't home. I can't get it until Wednesday. :C
Years of research and development have gone into these highly effective 12 gauge shells that can turn even Joe Biden’s double barrel shotgun into an instant anti-aircraft platform. Specially formulated propellant is capable of launching 9 pellets of depleted uranium rounds up to 1 km straight up into the air. With accurate shot placement, this armor piercing buckshot will disable vital systems on modern military drones. At minimum, the force of impact will disable navigation systems, but in over 60% of our field tests, the drones were incapable of remaining airborne after contact with our Anti-Drone Loads.
Joe O'Biden!
this gun scare shit is crazy I can't even find any used 30-06 brass!

All of the parts that make the 1911 and 1911A1 different can be interchangeable, except for one. The frame on the A1 has a relief cut in it right above the mag release. The 1911 does not have this cut in it's frame.
Oh god I want some of that uranium buckshot. Also sweet 1911 mastoner [editline]1st April 2013[/editline] Fuck me it's an April fools joke I hate this holiday
Pretty much an awesome skeet shooting load though, amirite? But anyways, Foster; I hope you can see it. It's in much better light on my desk. I don't think I see a notch in the frame like you said, but I think you know what you're looking for more than I do at that small difference. Does it say "Model of 1911" or "Model 1911"? Also, iirc all 1911s still in service after the A1 was introduced were updated to A1 specs
I would give my left nut for an authentic WWII 1911 And I hate 1911s
It's not an A1 [editline]1st April 2013[/editline] fuck automerge

U.S. Army" Engraved just a head of the ejection port on the right side of the slide with the patent dates and "Colt's PT.F.A.MFG.CO. HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A" on the left. Behind the trigger on the same side just above the mag release it has another stamp that looks like an M with a G wrapped around it, and with a Rearing Horse on the top of the slide just above the safety.

It was definitely manufactured as a 1911 and then updated to A1 specs sometime later [editline]1st April 2013[/editline] although it looks like the only A1 parts on it are the mainspring housing and grips
Doesn't surprise me. My Great-grandfather had a tonne of different 1911s in his collection. I got my second choice, and it's still better than I thought. Although, I'm starting to think differently about my original intentions of using it for Comp shooting though, given what data I know about it. I'm thinking it's going to stay as my nightstand gun and collector's case, as opposed to a daily carry gun when not at the range.

Notice the relief cut above the mag release:
.45 longslide with laser sighting. [editline]2nd April 2013[/editline] Also, another shitstorm brewing in SH. http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1258321
When has registering anything worked Please someone fucking tell me because no one can
Never, but some people still refuse to accept that.
Joe O'Biden!
Has anyone tried good ol' Biden's defense advice? Shooting through doors and randomly firing your shotgun outside on your porch? I really hope someone does it and sues his pants off. You would think someone in that position of power would not push such advice as what to do.
