if you had a free version your trial may have ran out, might have tweaked with your internet settings since you didn't buy the full version or somethin
I've seen some other antivirus programs do that too, I think it was Avast I saw do it at a gym I worked for.
Hrm, I got some 7.62x54r with my Mosin-Nagant and all the rounds have a silver tip on them. Does that indicate anything perhaps?

It means it was designed to kill nazi vampire warewolves
or it means it has copper jacketed steel core I donno
Silver typically indicates mild steel core. Ranges can get pissed if you use them without permission.
Any reason behind that?

~armor PIERCING steel CORE~
A steel core penetrates armor more effectivly. Ranges get pissed because they do way more damage to their equipment if you accidentally hit it.
Can also fuck up their backdrop if I remember correctly. Assuming it's an indoor range.
It rapes a lot of things. We raped an old engine block with these rounds.
I'm a mechanic at a boat shop. We have a literal, "Motor/Engine Pile." I think you just gave me an idea... :v:
Also, quick update on the break in status. Nothing new from the Local PD (no surprise there), so all employees at Manager level or higher are CC-ing to work now, I am using a Glock 27 (Sub Compact .40) for the time being, but I prefer my Colt M1991, fit wise.
I have an arsenal SGL-31 that has less than a hundred rounds through it, I took it to a local shop to see what they'd give me for it. They offered $500 for the rifle 2x extra magazines a cleaning kit and 120 rounds of ammo. What a joke.
Assuming you don't mind shipping it and are in the US I could maybe take it off your hands for more than that. If I don't get an M1 Garand instead, which brings me to my question: Anybody know where I can get a decent Garand for around $900? I know the pickings at that price are kind of slim, and the only option I can think of is the CMP.

Yup, this is correct. A lot of ranges will magnet test certain rounds to see if the core is steel. Steel core rounds can fuck a backstop up quickly.
Speaking of ranges and ammo, a friend of mine in Texas showed me some pics of his local range on fire. Apparently someone decided to shoot tracers inside, a fire ensued, and the whole range burned down.

Hey... psst... wanna ship me one, or four? :)
And I feel like I'm missing a lot of this story. What's going on with the local PD?

I hope the guy got banned from returning once they rebuild it. Who thinks it's a good idea to shoot tracers inside a flammable building?

If you can actually stop by the CMP store in person, do it.
So, I really want to go to the range; but have no targets other than these...

Think they'll withstand a .45 fmj? :v

Probably not.
Has anyone seen 1500 rounds of 12g in 25 round boxes? I just sold that many, and holy fuck does it ever weigh a lot, and it looks like a crapload of ammo when it's 60 25 round boxes instead of 6 flats.
Alright guys. Buying my first pistol I work with guns so I've handled most all major ones on the market right now, but I'm looking for something that I can possibly use for CC and also use for IPSC/IDPA (getting into one or the other, gotta get my pistol first.) I'm possibly looking at an FNX .45, a CZ , or maybe even a Sig... Any opinions? I'm a big guy, carrying these isn't a problem.
My SKS clips got stolen from my locked mailbox that the mailman holds the other key for :tinfoil:

What caliber do you want? If you're going to do IPSC style shooting, you're gonna want something that will make Major Class, a 9mm will not, but anything .40SW+ will. Double Stack .45's too big? What's your price range?

I'm going to have to say look at a 1911 style for both. The slender size is good for CC, and is pretty much the engineer's gun-of-choice for competition shooting. I think they've even made some beefier double-stack .45s, if you're worried about 7/8+1 being too little for CC.

I say a Sig Sauer P250 if you want a full sized .45
Price range is right around 1000$, under if possible... I like the FNX and CZ's...
Not a fan of the 250. Not a big 1911 guy but I like the feel of sig's 1911's for some reason.

Finally have a firearm of my own. I went to a gun show and it was absurd, not surprising since this is New York. Not a single AR of any kind, a total of three AKs, all WASRs, all $999. All SKSes were $500-600, Mosins were $300 and up, AR mags were going for $30 apiece. Spam cans of 7.62x54R were there, for $200 apiece. It was simply unreal, and the number of 'fuck Cuomo' T-shirts and bumper stickers I saw was not at all surprising.
Anyways, saw this one hiding next to an awful Chinese carbine. I was checking the barrels on the guns with a bore light and was surprised by how shiny and clean the barrel was on this one. It's a Romanian carbine dated 1954 with all matching parts. It is by far in the best condition I've ever seen on a Mosin- I'd say the barrel is chromed but the Internet seems to indicate that no Mosins have chromed barrels, so I guess it's just very well maintained. Wood's in good shape minus the expected dings, and there's very little cosmoline in the bolt or the wood. The bolt in particular is extremely smooth, and even the magazine spring is still oiled and feeds smoothly.
With 50 rounds and 6 stripper clips, I paid a total of $356 for it. A year ago I would have thought that a total ripoff but this being 2013 and New York state I'll take what I can get, especially since a Mosin is not something I would ever buy sight unseen.
Of course, the jury's still out until I get a chance to actually fire it. Anyone know a bit more about these Romanian rifles? Anything in particular I ought to check before using it?
Edit: Oh yeah, saw a pair of SVTs for ~$900. I know they're rare in the US, but isn't that a bit high of a price for one?

Sig's 1911 is outstanding, is why. Probably the closest I've come to a Colt original, except with the possible exception of the Ruger, if they didn't jack up the safety.
But that's going to be out of your price range, most likely. I know I had mild success with Dad's Ruger p944 in .40 S&W, although I never shot it enough to get great with it. Berreta's 92f might be an option though, too.
(I'm just pointing out guns I've shot and liked, which may not fit your tastes, just an fyi)

Solid Snake , never goes out of style.
Spent 7 hours at the range today with some Redditors. Shot rifle and pistol for ~4 hours, broke for lunch, then shot trap for another 2 and a half hours.
It was fucking fun!

Gorgeous mosin, but $350 for a M44 is a rip, $350 for a Romanian mosin is an outright scam. Even still, you can't really beat an M44, and I wouldn't mind paying that if I lived in the democratic peoples republic of New York.
And SVT-40's have been going for 6-900 for a while now, sadly. I wish I could have seen one of those at the last gunshow I went to, I definitely would have picked it up.
