Being a mod is actually good life experience. You help settle arguments between people who totally different points of view whilst remaining independent. [editline]1st December 2015[/editline] Also the random mod payments were amazing and really helped me out with bills once or twice.

I'll be honest. I wanted to be a mod on FP for quite some time, at least after I've been here for a while. Not because it would give me judgement power over the masses but because I feel like people are naturally drawn to chatting up the mods in a way that I'd start to become more sociable with the nicer folk here. Also neat larger avatars.

I guess becoming a mod is sort of seen as becoming a pillar of the community on most forums, that mentality just sticks with most people across forums.

A user is given moderator status when they amass at least 20,000 hours in Garry's Mod, thus cementing their status as "Garry's mod".
