I'm taking two friends who have only been airsofting once before. They've gone paintballing quite a few times though. We're going indoors, should be intense.
which do you guys prefer (mainly pertains to east coasties): ordering from a store nearby/purchasing an item in-store for more $$$ but you get it faster or ordering off a huge retailer and saving money but waiting longer for your item.
I usually purchase in-store so I deal face to face with an employee and get the right item, get the opportunity to hold said item, and maybe even test fire. I also like to hand pick the gun if wood furniture is involved, or just any inherent external defects that can be avoided by hand-selecting it.
yeah agree to the test firing part/feeling the guns before buying them.
I buy online. Better prices even before coupons are applied, and I don't have to deal with the restricted inventory of most shops.
Bought a silencer and a Y-tool so I can fix my leaky magazines
Is the vest a SAAV? If so, post the dimensions of the mag and i'll see if it's got any pockets that could fit those. IIRC, the vest has a bunch of fairly lengthy pockets, not sure if they're lengthy enough, though.
Heres where I get to look like an idiot, what do you mean by SAAV? I'll check as soon as I know. [editline]20th December 2012[/editline]
get a blackhawk medic vest it can store p90 mags, so it can store ump mags too alternatively get a molle vest of some form and get ump mag pouches
Know anywhere I can buy it in the UK?
the blackhawk medic vest? not sure, you'd have to look around

This morning I felt tempted to buy a BAR and turn it into a tactical BAR. Seppuku, or Russian Roulette?
russian roulette while committing seppuku with a revolver that has a bayonet on it.

Joke's on you guys, I have no money right now!
Dogtag Airsoft just got the KWA Kriss in. Gonna head over in the next hour and play with it, might even get one loaned to me to review. I'll let you know what I think of it when I get back.
since when did JG make an SL8??
since july apparently kinda want but then i'd just have another awkward long gun on top of my 4 other awkward long guns
I kinda want a DMR. I'm probably just going to pimp a G36k tho
some guy on a facebook group i saw is selling an echo1 sr25 that needs a new motor and wires for $80 with the silencer and whatnot i was tempted until I saw this abomination:
is that stock angled upward
its not like you couldn't just fucking repaint the gun or anything???
OH god that stock, wtf happened to it. Repainting it wouldn't be too hard though, I've painted my SR25 twice so far. Got back from Dogtag, got my hands on the Kriss. That gun is fucking solid, no wobble at all anywhere. Distribution of weight takes a bit of getting used to, and the vertical grip feels like it sits a little low for me. Controls are pretty easy to figure out. Rear selector is the safety, front is the fire selector. Both are easily manipulated but lock into place. Bolt release is on the left side of the gun. Press on the front of it and the bolt will be released if it was locked back. Pressing the rear of the bolt release will allow you to lock it back. Charging handle is pretty long when folded out and it does feel different to use. When the bolt gets near the turn it takes a bit more effort to push it past. Mag release placement isn't that great. They pretty much placed an enlarged Glock mag release onto the left side of the gun, leaving it way too high up. Since it's so high up I couldn't grab the mag and press the release at the same time. I could see this leading to lots of dropped mags. Shooting the Kriss was different. If you're looking for kick, this is not the gun for you. Seriously, I barely felt anything shooting this, I think a .22 kicks more. Trigger seemed pretty good but didn't really have enough trigger time with it to make any major judgements. The gun was very controllable on all three firing modes. 2 round burst is very nice and the ROF isn't overkill. Personally I'd use the 2 round burst all the time on it if I had one. FPS is around 350 with .20g. Overall the Kriss seems to be a well built gun. It's much more impressive in person to handle than it is just looking at videos. Originally I was skeptical about it, but I'm starting to like it. My biggest issue is just it's size compared to other GBB SMG's on the market. Now I just need to wait for the TM MP7 GBB to hit stateside so I can compare which I like more. Think I'm still leaning towards the TM MP7.
i have a crazy new theory. the socom gear/DD mfr is OEM by WE and its a katana base gun. First off, it has the same safety spring release thing, it has the same exact receiver finish (upper is darker than lower), it fits the price point, and it has a split gearbox
