why would you get a gbbr? they are cool but totally impractical, expensive as fuck and you are limited to 30 rounds and mags are expensive as fuck putting you at an instant disadvantage to other players.

Because people play airsoft for more than combat effectiveness. If airsofters only cared about effectiveness, we'd all be using Strafers shooting at 150 rounds per second and field fps limits.
GBBR's are fun to play with and rewarding to work on. Provided you have the budget to work with, you can still make an extremely effective platform.

I'll take some picture tomorrow to walk you through it. Those circle things are actually connected to form a ring that locks the rear of the scope in place. Shouldn't be worrying about the backside though, just need to focus on the front of the scope. Did you remove the square rubber piece from the front of the scope, or did you just pull off the rubber cap on the rear of the scope? It's the front one you want to remove.
