Sup guys. Through the fire, flames, and 221 ABBA posts I am back and just in time for my new gun order which I am not yet 100% sure which one it will be.
Agree- G&P M16a1
Disagree- G&P M16a2
Funny- G&P CAR-15
Winner- G&P Xm177E2

im not biased at all
I agree with this ocmpletely
Let's get a general consensus.
You forgot LCT
I don't think such blanket categories are accurate at all. A&K machine guns are good, A&K everything else is crap. CYMA AKs are good, CYMA everything else is mediocre.
Even within the category of 'good' there are so many nuances. Is a CYMA a viable alternative to a Real Sword? Hell no. It's good because it's good for the price.
I'd rather see a blurb per-manufacturer highlighting their strengths and weaknesses than arbitrarily assigning them to a scale.
Baby steps bro. This obviously isn't going to be the finalized version. Mostly to get a discussion going and perhaps make it easier for whatever new airsofter may come.
On some cases like A&K, put the logo on the line between bad and good and put an asterisk with "Support weapons are good, avoid everything else" Or something like that. I would rather see a 10-1 scale than a tiered scale.
i'd rather see it divided into price/quality range first

as catbarf said a cyma doesn't belong on the same chart as an RS simply because they're not on the same level at all
Dboys is no where near G&G
Instead of trying to shoehorn the information into a single metric and make a visual chart, why not provide descriptions of each manufacturer listing their relative quality, price, strengths and weaknesses, and any specific details, to allow a new player to get the full story instead of making decisions on minute amounts of data?
uh
i tried to do this in like 2 minutes
half of this is probably wrong, but feel free to correct me. I have the PSD if you want to add/fix/delete shit on it. based solely on what i have read and experienced and seen.

kwc classified as good only for metal/co2 GBB pistols
plastics do not count*
*thanks to kath
KWC is more "acceptable"
These charts are making me very angry and opinionated very fast.
Before I converted it into a 'PRESS' helmet, I had this $25 abs plastic pasgt helmet with a fabric liner and it was awesome, it managed to withstand two 5 second bursts of fire from my RPK at about 10 feet so i figured it was combat ready
but now i use metal helmets like my east german or m1, and sometimes my real PASGT helmet.
also mich
I have a black one of those fake PASGT helmets too, the padded inside is great for the cold weather. I wouldn't wear mine in hot weather though. Funny thing was that I got a real PASGT helmet for like $20 more than what I bought the fake one fore. Woodland cover, a little American flag wrapped around the headband in back, and a fading 'EUGENIO' and diamond looking shape in black pen on the front. I haven't taken it airsofting yet, the character it has makes me not want to use it. Maybe one milsim game sometime.
HFC m9's and their actual glocks are pretty fucking good.
HFC m9's and their actual glocks are pretty fucking good.
only reason I said acceptable is because you can get better ones for about the same price
I've always wondered, did Infinity Ward model the AKS-74u in cod4 really shittily first and JG made their Beta Spetznas monstrosity based off that, or did JG make the gun first and IW decided 'that looks great' and modelled it for cod4 instead of researching what a real AKS-74u looked like?
TM started the whole beta spets thing back in the day
why though
i can see the point of shortening it (for compactness) but then giving it a full stock completely shits all over that point
Because back when batteries were as big as cinderblocks
the tm beta spets is fucking ancient
My brother has an oldschool TM AKMS or something with an underfolding stock and the battery is just a stick battery that fits in the top cover so i still don't get why the beta spetznas exists.
unless it pre-dates even the AK my brother has
because big battery lasts longer than small battery
of course none of that matters today with lipos that are half the size of a big nicad yet work for twice as long
Are helmets comfortable? I'm buying those underarmor hoods for the heat (live in Miami and it's horrible during the summer) and if it works well, I may get a helmet.
Where do you play at?
The story I always heard was that TM basically just took a bunch of random AK bits and threw them together. Out came every COD kiddies wet dream.
They must've made the handguard shorter on purpose but it still seems dumb. I understand why the beta spetznas exists now but i still think it's stupid and looks ridiculous.
The only good thing to come out of them is the short AK mags since i see those for sale everywhere because people buy bigger ones.
