I've just remembered something... The entire Mankanshoku family, aside from Mako's mother and Mako herself, actually have "died" in a past episode. Episode 4: Dawn of a Miserable Morning. They all get concussions, say a little dying speech, pass out, and aren't seen for the rest of the episode. Something to think about, I guess.

You know... I'm thinking it would almost be too obvious to kill Mako off. Too tropish. It doesn't seem like it would fit the theme of a series where literally nobody dies... More than that, though, it wouldn't really fit anything Trigger's done aside from TTGL. They're not known for killing everyone off, they just sort of did it in one series. Nobody died in Panty & Stocking, or at least none of the main characters... And, honestly, KLK is more like P&S than it is TTGL or Evangelion.
