so how do you guys think Takarada keeps his wealth? he throws out and gives away cash so rampantly; do you think he keeps his citizens in a permanent state of accelerated inflation? so he can pretend like he's being charitable by having big cash giveaways, while ramping up taxes and the price of government services, to keep the populace constantly in debt and struggling to reach some of the money that rains down every other day?
From what I heard, his family owns half of Japan.
From what I heard, his family owns half of Japan.
Also, his family runs a shipbuilding conglomerate. On an island country. That's a good way to make money.
[sp]Also, he's not rich anymore, he said he spend their entire fortune building the flying battleship base for Nudist Beach.[/sp]
[sp]Which is silly, because it's proven absolutely useless so far. And it's about to be sunk by a giant COVERS.[/sp]
[sp]To be fair has anything done by anyone besides Ryuko and Satsuki ever been effective?[/sp]
[sp]To be fair has anything done by anyone besides Ryuko and Satsuki ever been effective?[/sp]
[sp]Those cannon things that suck people out of COVERS seemed pretty effective until Ryuko showed up and killed like 200 of them in one swing[/sp]
[sp]Those cannon things that suck people out of COVERS seemed pretty effective until Ryuko showed up and killed like 200 of them in one swing[/sp]
I loved Gamagoori's face in that scene when he was showed up by Ryuuko.
[sp]Which is silly, because it's proven absolutely useless so far. And it's about to be sunk by a giant COVERS.[/sp]
[sp]It was effective transportation, delaying, destracting, and providing a stable battle-platform that didn't completely come to pieces while the titans fought it out. So there's that.[/sp]
[sp]Those cannon things that suck people out of COVERS seemed pretty effective until Ryuko showed up and killed like 200 of them in one swing[/sp]
[sp]They got to use them again afterward though![/sp]
[sp]They got to use them again afterward though![/sp]
You get a Macguffin! And you get a Macguffin! And you get a Macguffin! EVERYBODY GETS A MACGUFFIN! I just finished the first half of the Gurren Lagann story arc, by the way. Was not expecting that ending. Compilation episode time!
TTGL actually made me cry, real talk.
TTGL actually made me cry, real talk.
I may have shed manly tears on [sp]Episode 8.[/sp] Maybe. Haven't yet gotten to the rumored [sp]"EVERYBODY DIES ALL THE TIME"[/sp] bit yet, but I know it's coming. I'm trying to brace myself. [sp](I've been banned once for spoilers. It won't happen again.)[/sp]
If you didn't cry during the last episode of TTGL you have no soul
If you didn't cry during the last episode of TTGL you have no soul
Still getting there. I'll let you know the status of my soul when I do.
If you didn't cry during the last episode of TTGL you have no soul
my favorite part is "i fucking love pudding" [editline]18th March 2014[/editline] wait hang on...
If you didn't cry during the last episode of TTGL you have no soul
I didn't cry at that or through all of clannad, am I some horrible demon?
I didn't really cry after TTGL, but I certainly was emotionally affected. I'm hesitant to call it "pride", but it was definitely something positive.
I loved Gamagoori's face in that scene when he was showed up by Ryuuko.
Always trying to be the best. 7+2
Always trying to be the best. 7+2
[sp]Nonuple.[/sp]
Once you're done with TTGL you need to watch Laggan-hen. It goes even more ham. Which I thought was impossible but they pull it off some how.
Once you're done with TTGL you need to watch Laggan-hen. It goes even more ham. Which I thought was impossible but they pull it off some how.
Might as well mention Gunbuster and Diebuster while we're at it. Both were essentially forerunners to TTGL.
Might as well mention Gunbuster and Diebuster while we're at it. Both were essentially forerunners to TTGL.
Aim for the top
Once you're done with TTGL you need to watch Laggan-hen. It goes even more ham. Which I thought was impossible but they pull it off some how.
Isn't Lagann-hen just the second half of the show but with extra scenes?
Isn't Lagann-hen just the second half of the show but with extra scenes?
no it's re done. Just the second season as a movie. Like Gurren-hen is the first.
Isn't Lagann-hen just the second half of the show but with extra scenes?
If you haven't seen Lagann-hen, you gotta drop whatever you're doing and go check that shit out. I saw it in a theater with like 100 nerds, front row seats. It was legitimately the best experience I've ever had at the movies. It's not just extra scenes, it radically changes the entire ending battle, and is infinitely better. I don't think I'll ever watch TTGL again, but I watch Lagann-hen at least once a year.

It would be mine except for Ryuuko's weird flip. It's not even like the first or only time she defies physics, but I just can't enjoy it to its full extent because of that.

Besides, stopping in midair to do a bunch of flips then kick somebody is pretty standard.
how do physics
no physics, only magic
