Let's take it to the next level god I'm gonna miss this thread when this show's over
Holy shit those video descriptions. :v:
it ends in 3 days FUCK
a special episode will come out in September so thread won't be completely dead for some time http://myanimelist.net/anime/21659/Kill_la_Kill_Special
There's not much to discuss between the show and the OVA except Isshin's mouse Also I hope [sp]Ryuko won't pull a Simon and leave everyone else behind after they've defeated Ragyo[/sp]
I finally got to watch the whole show and I like it very much The fanservice doesn't bother me that much, given this is a series about people and clothing and the whole thing (most of the time) isn't shoved down your throat. Some fanservice instances are also fetish-proof, at least as far as I'm concerned (the kamui, anyone?). The humor is quite fine, as well as the characters. And the anime looks very good with a lot of attention to details and previous episodes. The music rocks too. The only thing I loathe about Kill la Kill this far is the Mako character and her family. I admit, I don't like comic relief characters by default, no matter the context or their qualities. But Mako takes the cake and eats it too. To be more precise: - Her and her family antics aren't funny to me in the slightest. And althought Kill la Kill is a clearly over the top series with plenty of humor, I'd like to enjoy the occasional serious moment without a little moron spitting senseless crap. To be fair, someone explained to me that a lof of the humor from Mako's speeches come from Japanese visual puns. So maybe it's my fault for not knowing the specific language to appreciate them, but still ... - Mako and her family are very flat characters and get really repetitive after a while (yeah, I know that Dr. Mankanshoku does more harm than good to his patients and the family dog eats a lot, I don't need to be remembered of all of this every damn time they are featured on screen) - Mako is used randomly by the writers every damn time Ryuko needs some character development or a way out of a bad situation with no explanation whatsoever. Episode 12 comes to mind. She's basically a plot advancer pret-a-porter - Episode 7, "A loser I can't hate" is arguably the only episode from Kill la Kill I dislike. The whole family does terrible things to Ryuko for the entire episode and then basically get away with it scot-free thanks to a very weak, out of place "friendship and family" aesop

Pfff, I thought that was blood, not a shadow.
mako = bad
for the most part I agree, she has a few cute/cool scenes (see latest episodes), but earlier she was really annoying I really like how they're showing her in the mango a lot better notice how she's actually concious that ryuko is trying to ignore her, and for good reason, and doesn't just declare they're friends, she ASKS if ryuko wants to be friends

I still don't like her as a character, but she became more bearable towards the end of the show (the last few episodes). The Loser I Can't Hate episode was alright just because of how over the top it was, but i couldn't stand Mako until just recently. [editline]24th March 2014[/editline] Also does anybody know what the OVA is going to actually be about?

I have a feeling someone at the end will point to space.

I finally got around to catching up to this show. It felt like Sorairo Days should have been playing throughout that entire last episode. Shit was so Lagann. Also Trigger launched a giant ship penis into a giant gourd vagina. Best company.
I just watched the first episode. This is silly as fuck!
but you love it, right?
I don't know, I only watched half of it a few days ago and I finished off today.
