Kill La Kill Megathread: magic girl transformations ahoy

why did [sp]he need to die i mean cant she regenerate any wound so if they feel from space she could be fine right?[/sp]
If you think about it
[sp]the series couldn't really end without the last piece of life fiber clothing dying, with the exception of ryuko ofc[/sp]
which raises another question,
[sp]did Ryuko lose her fibrous parts? is she all human now? is she still of an incomprehensible constitution? will she essentially live a normal human life, or is she still invincible?[/sp]
and
[sp]were the life fibers on Earth destroyed, or made to go dormant?[/sp]
I just finished watching the final episode
It was quite good. So much that I didn't even mind Mako THAT MUCH
The only things I can say I disliked were the "we got the upper hand here! Oh no, the villain has a new ace up her sleeve!" formula getting a bit old by this point and Nui's "comeuppance"
Is that me or we recived several sequel hooks?
spoiler tags are [sp], not
when you return, we should totes [sp]go on a date[/sp]

What do you guys think of this?
[sp]I genuinely felt bad for Senketsu when he died...[/sp]
I saw that coming a mile off so it didn't affect me much

There will be a season 2.
[sp]Ragyo pretty much confirmed it when she said the Life Fibers will return[/sp]

I don't think it works. [sp]Nui's Shinjiro disguise showed that she still only has one eye, as evidenced by the eyepatch's continued existence under 'his' hair. This suggests that Nui can't create a disguise with both eyes intact. Epilogue Mako has both her eyes. So at the very least, Mako herself hasn't been replaced.[/sp]

But what if [sp]Mako's clothes are Nui[/sp]
OH YES. My hate for that character greatly surpasses my hate for that one.

It was something that I noticed last night after the episode. [sp]The backpack isn't anything like the eyepatch outside of colour though, it's just a rabbit. What's more interesting is that the colours of Mako's outfit are the exact same as Nui's, just with the lower part and the body part swapped. It's got very similar frilly edges too. It probably is nothing, but it's something interesting at least.[/sp]

It's difficult to judge. Mainly because that "conspiracy" is simply blared at your face at full "obviousness", it's just too easy to discover. I'd expect Trigger to do something utterly unpredictable instead. If they do a second season at all.
But what if [sp]Mako's clothes are Nui[/sp]
Still have trouble seeing it. [sp]Nui was absorbed by Ragyo/Shinra-Koketsu, which were subsequently destroyed in one form or another; Shinra-Koketsu being absorbed by Senketsu, who then burns to a crisp, and Ragyo crushing her own heart. Nui's complete death seems definite, and bringing her back from that to become clothes would be a pretty convoluted bit of writing.[/sp]
THEN AGAIN crazy writing seems to be Trigger's thing so
While [sp]Nui's possible survival[/sp] would be a good sequel hook, I have concerns that running a Season 2 to appease the fans (or make more money) would be a bad thing. They've already mostly wrapped up the story, deciding to plow on anyway just drags it out. See: SAO 2.
I do want to know what happened to the [sp]scissors after Ryuko impaled herself on Ragyo's arm spike thing. It's a bit of a "blink and you miss it" sort of thing, but the scissors break apart and go flying off, with nothing conclusive said about what happened to them.[/sp]
Yeah, I was a little disappointed with how casually [sp]Bakuzan Gako/Koryu and the Rending Scissors are tossed right out of the story.[/sp]

To address these questions: [sp]I'm guessing Ryuko's still a Life Fiber being for whatever reason - as she's so tightly merged with them, all her Fibers going belly-up would be enough of a shock to kill her (dead Life Fibers also means no insane regen, so there). As for the rest of Earth's Fibers, Aikuro mentions that they'll all die off on their own. Because they're all decoupled from their energy sources, they have no food. So, they're not dead yet, but they will be in a short time, and are harmless now anyway.[/sp]
well that was a fantastic episode
[sp]rip senketsu ;_;7[/sp]

It is pretty silly that [sp]Ryuko didn't even show any reaction at any point to throwing away the scissors. She's essentially said that the half of the scissors she had was important to her (not that I can remember the episodes where any of it was said), and it took ages for her to get the other half back, with a relatively big deal being made out of it, if I remember correctly. And then they just get thrown away at the end like they don't even matter.[/sp]

[sp]I think she just threw them away because they really were useless and they would only get in her way for her final move.[/sp]

And [sp]wear cute clothes?[/sp]
[sp]Well she did say she and Senketsu was her dad's final weapon, the scissors weren't the only hope for survival[/sp]
[sp]best cry ever, now in gif form: http://puu.sh/7N1Qx.gif[/sp]
oh hey so i just realized satsuki was the kiryuun estate's whore, so there's that
remember when they sent iori to go try to kill the OLF? and they ran past the mansion guys? They were all naked and wearing ball gags.
Who was there with them alone that night? Satsuki.
worst mom all anime
[sp]So.. What happened to Soroi?
Actually, what happened to the whole Kiryuuin conglomerate? REVOCS? Satsuki should still have a controlling stake in that, and if Iori's still around, they could actually run a normal clothing company.
The people have to be getting their clothes from somewhere in the epilogue, right? And REVOCS sort of has total market saturation and no competition.
Could be a good angle for the OVA. [/sp]
[sp]I think she just threw them away because they really were useless and they would only get in her way for her final move.[/sp]
[sp]Oh, yeah, it makes sense why she threw them away, I just find it silly there wasn't any sort of reaction about it at any point. Plus there is the whole thing about her being able to make at least her original half of the scissors much smaller (which would assumedly transfer over to the half Nui had too), which could have been used instead of throwing them away. All of this could not matter anyway, considering we got a preview for the OVA that shows one half of the scissors in some rubble. It just depends on when it's set.[/sp]

[sp]I'd imagine there wouldn't be any point in having them any more, and since they were made from life-fibers they would have probably vanished after Ragyo and the life-fiber got killed.[/sp]
i wonder if ryuko could supply iori with life fibers
