i want a slice of life comedy dammit
it would work with this cast
Yeah, they've left an opening for another season, but do we really need another season? I mean, aside from Ryuko learning about herself, what else is there to explore?
It would really be pushing it, but they could possibly do something like with Gurren Lagann - [sp]Turns out that there are Life Fibers conspiring against Earth on a cosmic scale, and now they have to fight if they want to survive.[/sp]
Like I said though, that would be really pushing it. The series feels like it has ended, with pretty much all the characters finishing up their story arcs. There also remains the fact that [sp]the Life Fibers, which pretty much enabled all the powers in the show to begin with, from Goku Uniforms to the Kamui to even the Rending Scissors, are gone. There are no more overpowered uniforms, ridiculous scissor blades, or god-robes with which to fight back against looming Life Fiber menaces.[/sp]
unless ryuko becomes a life fiber spider, she's full of them and could supply iori with enough to make whatever he wanted
KLK kinda reminds me of Mass Effect.
[sp]Alien race spreading across the galaxy exterminating all life, splinter group within humanity screwing them up from the inside, Ragyou being a Saren/IM type character (Nui=Kai Leng???), threat not over. Maybe a bit of a stretch but whatever.[/sp]
S2 and 3 confirmed??

That's an... interesting mental image...
Trilogy confirmed

The third season will have 3 differently colored final episodes

Oh yes that reminds me of a certain ending (TTGL spoilers)
I don't have much to add, but I very much liked the ending.
[sp]I love it when shows end on a good note, instead of leaving a lot open a begging for another season.[/sp] Though I do wish it was longer overall, but the pace was good enough for what it was.
I can't see a second season happening. [sp]They pretty much used the final episode to tie up most loose ends and possibilities of a second season: Kill off the three main villains, take all the goku uniforms and put them into one character that is burnt up in the atmosphere later on, and show the resolution where everything is happy. More so I believe it wrapped up nicely and does not need a sequel. Though I will give that some points remain open-ended, such as the starch bullet, the fate of useless assistant to Ragyo, and the "This isn't over" statement.[/sp]Maybe they will use the OVA to clear those up.
Also it's Imaishi, he is known for packing a 10 season anime into one season

[sp] I don't know why people think ragyo assistant is still alive? She was sucked up into ragyo last outfit and her hole life force was absorbed into it. Thus killing her off especially when she tossed her away and she was drained of color kinda of stating she was just a corpse at that point.[/sp]

[sp]She made noise when she impacted the remains of the transmitter. It was a comical enough scene that I'm inclined to believe she survived. The finale handled actual character death in a much more serious fashion. She wasn't wholly absorbed into Shinra-Koketsu like Nui, either; rather, she was acting as a power source much like other humans did for human-form Covers. Proof of this being the case is that Ragyo says the Absolute Submission field is being powered by Hououmaru 'as she sleeps here'.[/sp]
I suppose it's funny that in the end, she's so unimportant they didn't even follow up.
The only major thing I can say about this finale: [sp]Giant Dildo Rocket[/sp]

[sp]You'd think she's been performing foreplay with herself since Episode 15, the way she went off.[/sp]
to be fair, she has been

[sp]The life fiber curtain around it was practically a goddamn condom.[/sp]

This made me rewatch the episode, and I actually only just realized that the [sp]transmitter is meant to be a tube of lipstick, with the satellite being lips.[/sp]

Cracks me up every time.
The only problem I had with the ending is that it fucked with my GaMako by giving RyMako a lot of ammunition.
[sp]On one hand, Mako asks Ryuuko to go on a date (which is referenced a few times that episode, and actually does happen in the credits), and she even gives her a kiss in her snapshot phase before Ryuuko leaves. Not to mention a few references in earlier episodes.
On the other hand, my mother goes on "dates" with her "girlfriends" despite being slightly homophobic, and apparently girls go on these kinds of things all the time. They even through a few GaMako references into those final episodes (Mako cookies, anyone?).[/sp]
Really, I really want GaMako to be canon, because if not then Gama's love (if there is any, which I think there is) isn't returned and unrequited love freaking sucks (firsthand experience, here), but...there's quite a bit of RyMako that can be argued as well. What do you guys think?
Don't misunderstand makos last scene with ryoko
[Sp] mako suddenly took a break from being jar jar bunks when gamagoori 'died' that's true love right there[/sp]

My personal opinion is that there's a bit more evidence for RyMako in the finale. While GaMako has gotten a lot of hints [sp]Mako faces on Gamagoori's croquettes, etc.[/sp] the emphasis put on [sp]the 'going on a date' part goes beyond casual outing to me; the kissing in Mako's rant, while a jokey rant, feels honest enough when I watch it, Ryuko's reaction to said rant, and the way Aikuro said 'Those girls have a date' at the end[/sp] all lead me towards RyMako. I don't have any evidence to back up my claims, of course - the ambiguity between the two possibilities seems intentional. It's just based on the 'vibe' I get from the characters' voices during those scenes.
What I consider to be the strongest argument for RyMako is the scene at the beginning of Episode 21, at around 1:20, where Ryuko [sp]kisses Nui. True, she's under Junketsu's and Ragyo's influence at that point, but I don't have any reason to believe that a Kamui affects the wearer's sexual orientation. The writers really made a point to avoid discussing her sexuality in the show as well.[/sp]
Really, though, both pairings are equally valid, since neither are explicitly canonized. I say RyMako is the real one because that's the one I want to be real, and that's pretty much it.
I don't see how Gamako isn't completely canonized at this point. It totally is.
I don't see how Gamako isn't completely canonized at this point. It totally is.
Because some people are in denial and they can't accept that when [sp]Mako asked Ryuuko to go on a date, she meant it as a "girl date". I mean, hell, look at the credit sequence! It was hardly romantic, and Satsuki was there.[/sp] I don't get why she would be there if it was supposed to be between Ryuuko and Mako. Plus, there was like no interaction of that nature between them in the series, whereas there was a lot more shipping fuel between Mako and Gamagoori.
she's there for best girl threesomes
