I keep seeing posts on tumblr about this stupid RyMako/Gamako debate and it's needlessly frustrating, I don't understand why I'm worked up over [I]shipping[/I] of all damn things but I'm pretty sure there was more substance to Gamako in the show than any kind of relationship with Ryuuko.

Bro, Mako and Ryuuko had a budding romance before Gamagoori was even an ally.
I was rewatching episode 24, and it showed while on the "Date" Gamagoori was around the wall with the other 3 with flowers. If it REALLY was Ryuuko and Mako (I always thought Ryuuko was like an adopted sister to Mako) then why would Gamagoori have Flowers? He's shown to be aware of the situation so he would of noticed it if it WAS love, and the kiss was only in the Hallelujah scene which ONLY has jokes in it.
Also just noticed, but is Ryuuko's red hair meant to be a Life Fibre?

Glad to see I wasn't the only person questioning it, but I'm pretty sure GaMako wins by default. Ryuuko had more moments with Senketsu and her own damn sister than she did Mako. If people are only taking the last episode as "proof" then it isn't a good enough argument.
I'm just gonna block any posts like that if I see them, they're rather annoying (I only did it once!)

So apparently, dating in Japan is different than it is in America and other ? And that Satsuki being there was part of the date too? But that Mako used the romantic form of the word date in the show?
Whatever, this is making my heart heavy (I get worked up over possible unrequited romances), I'm just gonna avoid the topic.

Actually no, i can't spell it so i won't try but the Japanese word that Mako used means girls going out and doing girl things. Date is just a literal translation.

Wasn't a bad review at all- personally I enjoyed the slide-show animation and most of the stuff he disliked as well, although my standards for anime aren't amazingly high and I've got a pretty good tolerance for most quirks. I did feel the ending was a bit rushed in some areas, might have been better split up into two episodes, but I'm happy how it ended and overall enjoyed the show very much. One of my top anime

I have to agree on the whole "explaining what they were just doing" thing, shit is really retarded and it's littered in a lot of action anime that I've watched. [sp]The explaining of Ryuuko's dismemberment from Ragyo was the stupidest thing[/sp]

The best example of an action anime that describes what everybody is doing and how they're doing it is Jojo, because the fights are all elaborate plans and clever attacks and people will explain to their enemy exactly what they're doing, how they're doing it, and how it works while they're in the middle of their attacks.
But "haha i survived your attack because X" is usually really flimsy and poorly thought out, particularly the ones used for surprise value.
