If the last episode cut the ending credits montage, made that into a full bonus episode, then gave us more actual episode (aftermath of the final battle and whatnot) during the credits, it woulda been perfect. Also, I'm about to start Gurran Lagann in an attempt to fill the hole that was left by this show. I know there's a few movies, when do I watch those (or do they just come in at the end)?

However, they are still worth watching solely for the improved finales. Especially the second movie.

The movies cut a lot of great things out but they throw in a lot of crazy stuff for fans of the show. The end of the first movie was so good I started to cry because I was so fucking hyped up. The second movie ending was good too but I actually didn't like it as much as the one in the show.
I disagree entirely, second ttgl movie finale is the superior version.
Just watched the OVA Expected a short episode on Ryuuko and Mako's date with some Lady Satsuki in it. Didn't get that, but wasn't really disappointed.

Underwater subs released yesterday, so I watched it a bit late. Wasn't too impressed overall because you really noticed they just squeezed something in to try and make it interesting even though everything was pretty much resolved. I liked the [sp]robot and super scissor thing though, would've been great if they managed to incorporate that in the regular thing, but oh well[/sp]. I think that overall it would've been a lot better if they just integrated the whole thing into the base series, because it wouldn't feel so weird and out of the blue all of a sudden. PS: Still bummed out that there was no extended [sp]lesbian date[/sp]
I would not mind a Kyoto Animation-like chibi episode about the lesbian date.
Why do people still insist it's a lesbian date and not just friends going out shopping
Why do people still insist it's a lesbian date and not just friends going out shopping
"Satsuki is just third-wheelin' hard as fuck"
Why do people still insist it's a lesbian date and not just friends going out shopping
headcanon > actual canon?
Why do people still insist it's a lesbian date and not just friends going out shopping
Mostly because both Ryuuko and Mako referred to it as a date. Combine that with the fact that they're making it out to be a bit of a bigger deal than just regularly doing something and that Ryuuko molested Nui. [sp]Also crying Gamagoori[/sp]

[sp]Also crying Gamagoori[/sp]
Back when this actually happened someone mentioned that the word used was a non-romantic form or something like that, I think. There were a couple of posts indicating it was the romantic form, but nobody ever really followed up on it IIRC.
Ryuuko molested Nui.
Ryuko was brainwashed by the same people associated with incest. You should probably take that into account.
[sp]Also crying Gamagoori[/sp]
Gamagoori was sweating

I had the strangest dream that combined X-Files and Kill la Kill and I don't know...how to deal with this. Fuck sake I had a magical girl transformation into Detective Bulwark from fucking BAS. I would use a pistol as a laser pointer to explain the conspiracies happening. And the whole thing was set in a college town in bumfuck nowhere New York.
"Mulder, clothes can't eat people. Look at the cold, hard, science- it's just not possible!" "On 1943, the government carried out an experiment on strength-enhancing clothes for the war effort. The results were terrible, and the project was immediately canned, but some of what they discovered led to technologies we use on our daily lives, like velcro." "And you're suggesting someone is secretly using that... leftover technology to experiment on unwilling participants?" "I'm saying they never stopped."
I can read this in their voices, Jesus I need to stop religiously watching that show.
It just...the two shows clash almost perfectly. X-FIles being so fucking jaded with everything and then you have the entire cast of Kill la Kill being the opposite. Its the perfect mental whiplash.
-Mulder is eating sunflower seeds on his sofa, contemplating the latest creation of his favorite porn producer, when Scully suddenly enters the room- "You were right." "Now there's three words I don't get to hear that often." "Mulder, you... you were right. The army was experimenting with clothes. But they weren't on the way you told me." "... what?" "It wasn't the US army, Mulder. It was the German army. The leftover technology was just one of the many things their scientists gave to us when they fled to our shores after the war ended. The clothes weren't meant to make the soldiers stronger, they were supposed to contain the world's first artificial intelligence. The clothes were supposed to live on their own, so that even when the soldiers were dead--" "They kept on shooting. An army that never really dies. Where did you find this, Scully?" "I was doing some investigating, and I got a tip. From the girl we stumbled upon. The one from the school. See, here's the thing, Mulder... the project wasn't abandoned because it didn't work. The project was abandoned because it worked, it worked too well. The clothes, they moved, alright, but they didn't wait until the person wearing them was dead." "What were they doing?" "They were feeding off the people wearing them, using them as host bodies." "In their attempts to create the latest fashion trend... the German army created a parasite. Sounds like the plot to a shlock movie." "Mulder..." "But it does!"
