yeah and i guess you think bullets don't kill people either? hahaah!
Don't get shot.
I'm not sure whether Lockdown6 is being sarcastic or not
My sarcasm-meter is broken.
He's being sarcastic...
I've counted 4 exact same threads so far, just from different OP's
Everyone asks "what should I wear," "do you get bruises from the balls," "does it hurt when they hit you"
Paintballing is just more expensive than airsoft so whats the point?
Party's tommorow and my friend's the host, I can hardly say to him now "You should have gone and played Airsoft instead :colbert:"
Post pics of your battle wounds
If there's any remotely impressive I shall.
5. Any tips for playing?
Position yourself well, lay in ditches and try reduce how much of your body is out in the open. You really, REALLY don't wanna get shot in the nuts.
Sounds like there's more tactics to paintballing than I'd expected.
why does everyone assume I'm joking? do you want a recording of my friend resting his head on a blood-soaked towel and his unbearably painful last moments?
my god, you people are so insensitive.
Yes.
I don't trust you.
Protective wear is for pussies and will only slow you down.
If you run out of paint balls: BLUFF.
The paint ball gun will still fire out compressed air making a firing sound. If you're playing an attack/defend type game then you can adequately hold a position with NO paint balls for a fair time (I managed to do it for half a round (until the end of the round) with a friend who had ALSO ran out of paintballs).
If you're on a team and teamwork/communication is next to non-existent: take command! Throw orders around and update people on the situation!
And for the love of god: BUY A FUCKING CUP! Wear it over a pair of boxers or something and UNDER another pair for good measures.
Cup really isn't necessary, the zipper on jeans is sufficient enough, along with the overalls they give you which are reasonably baggy in the first place, Lockdown, it clearly didn't happen stop trolling please...
I'm sorry, I didn't think of pulling a camera out of my ass to record the moment.
Then why did you suggest it
I call troll

Because I know peole like you. People who tell fake stories just for the giggles they get when people believe you.
I hate that type of person.
It may not be necessary, but it is a worthwhile precaution.
Buy shit loads of paintballs, you don't want to end up defending somewhere without any.
Bring gloves, thick gloves.

When talking about your manhood ANY means to protect it are necessary. Sure, it's UNLIKELY you'll even be hit there. It's a relatively small area compared to the rest of your body. But... still, if you ARE hit there you ARE going to regret not having a cup.
Nah, I've been hit there while Paintballing without a cup and it really doesn't hurt, my overalls absorbed all of the momentum from the paintball.
suggest it when? to my friend?
"hey, dave, stay still so I can record this while you're still bleeding."
you people are just ridiculous.
You asked if we wanted to see it.
"do you want a recording of my friend resting his head on a blood-soaked towel and his unbearably painful last moments?"
Stop trolling please
I recommend you wear military grade clothing(it's made better and is more durable), and yes it will hurt. I say 1000 paintballs is enough, because paintball guns aren't the most accurate, and you usually are going to be shooting a lot anyways. Oh, and please, please, please, PLEASE wear a cup. Because one way or another, someone is going to want to shoot you in the nuts.

[*]Something light. Shorts and long sleeve T would be my recommendations. This allows you to stay mobile and not get hot. Getting hit doesn't hurt enough to justify weighing yourself down with excess clothing. The provided overalls should protect you pretty well. Wear some boots with decent ankle support. If you have light/fingerless gloves and aren't afraid of looking like a pussy then that probably wouldn't hurt. I find getting hit in the hands is the worst.
[*]A lot. At least 500 depending on how long you're playing.
[*]Depends where you get hit and from what range. Anywhere tender at 5 metres or less will probably bruise.
[*]Depends where and what range. As above, it will sting a bit at close range in tender areas. Anywhere else at a medium range really won't at all.
[*]Wear a protective cup. If you're not hitting people, get closer. Don't waste your paint.
[*]Never played it.

Don't wear a helmet, it will only hinder your vision. Same with clothing. Only hinders movement.

Be reasonable now, not wearing a helmet is just idiotic.
Be reasonable now, not wearing a helmet is just idiotic.
Agreed. I took a fair few paint balls to my visor. I'm sure they would have hurt a LOT if they'd hit me clean in the face. When the paint ball explodes sometimes the plastic will take off a layer of skin if it hits you in the hand. I'd hate that to happen to my eyeball.
I got hit TWICE in the head in unprotected areas (top of the head, and the back of my head (back of the head was a dud: didn't explode, but it still hurt like a fucker). That hurt a fair fucking bit and made me dizzy for a while.
Learn some actual infantry tactics and put them to use. Suppression fire coupled with flanking can work well if the opposing team are staying behind cover.
As I said, flanking them will leave more of their bodies exposed for you to fire at, and in a best case scenario (IE you're a sneaky fuck) you can catch them completely off guard. Use whatever visual and physical cover you can to advance. And run fucking fast. Just be aware that the paintball guns aren't very accurate so don't expect to plink off the heads of guys peeking above cover, and likewise if you're running from cover to cover there's not much chance of you being hit.
Get your teammates under your control too, if you flank alone while they're doing whatever they please it will be much less successful than otherwise.

listen to this man
paintballing in the nude is what real pros do
bring ALOT of money for extra paintballs, not sure about america but its pretty expensive over here, bring a pair of gloves or get one there if they sell them because as i found out, if you get shot on your trigger finger it'll be painful for ages and last but not least wear a good pair of shoes because alot of running is involved id just recommend some comfy trainers but ive seen people wearing full on assault boots before so whatever floats your boat

1. Wear old clothes, it's bound to be muddy out there. Also, if you're scared of them hurting (which it doesn't) then just wear extra layers.
2. It all depends on how trigger happy you are. When I first went I used over 1000 paintballs, but now I cut myself down.
3. I feel that if a paintball doesn't break, and instead bounces off of you itll hurt more, so it'll probably bruise then. That's cooler though cause then you can show them off. But if you wear extra layers you're less likely to be bruised.
4. It doesn't hurt. Mostly you feel a tiny sting that lasts like 5 seconds, because the adrenaline is rushing through you.
5. Tips:
- Stay in cover, talk to your teammates often. I've tried to rambo and it failed.
- Get teammates to surpress as you move barriers etc in Speedball.
- If you think you may run out, take a pot into the game so you can reload in emergencies.
- BEFORE YOU GO PAINTBALLING: Put at least 2 big bottles of water in the fridge or freezer. Trust me, this is a HUGE benefit when you come for a break.
6. No, they're different.
dont go one of my friends friends said that he saw someone get hit with a paintball and it went under the helmet, and bounced into their eye and caused them extreme shock which in turn killed them.
Highly illogical seeing as masks have a foam cover sealing around the eyes tightly.
Were paintball guns made deliberately inaccurate for this reason
if you're running from cover to cover there's not much chance of you being hit.
or is the whole Paintball fired by Co2 thing just not a very acurate way to fire?
So my friend is turning 16 tomorrow and we're going to play paintball, So I have some questions about what I should expect.

Any serious answers much appreciated
Camo clothing, also, if your a lad, groin guard...
When I played, I used 400, you just have to make everyshot count
Yes you will get bruised.
It stings more than anything, it might hurt for a few seconds, but just ignore the pain...
Don't go rambo, you'll just get shot, many, many times. Don't go shooting other guys in the nuts, seriously, it's a dirty move. Play fair, if your hit, go out, or whatever rules you play by. Don't spray, NEVER, it'll get you nowhere. Don't be afraid of driving into the bushes...
You'll most likely get hit unless they aren't paying attention or it isn't that far.
CO2 just isn't very accurate.
