It's my favorite movie of the year so far along with Inception.
It was just a ploy by Disney to whore out the series one last time, the 3D didn't work and the only reason its making any money is because Disney feeds on your nostalgia

Oh also I hated Mad Max. Like someone else said I expected Fallout/Borderlands the movie and instead I got bored after 30 minutes since it didn't seem like it was going anywhere. Flipped through the rest of the movie and it didn't seem like anything was ever going to happen. Might try watching 2 though, since everyone says it's way better. [editline]11:43AM[/editline]
Batman Begins. Seriously, this movie blew, they just payed everyone in the world (save for me) to say it's good.
I thought Batman Begins was widely said to be quite meh. I actually like it, not as much as Dark Knight but still.
8 legged freaks was a fun film
I agree, Clockwork Orange was terrible. I read the book, watched the movie, I hated both with a passion.
I liked the book, hated the movie.
The Twilight movies are really not that bad.
But are they that good? No. Personally, I'm not trying to jump on the bandwagon when I say this, but I think that Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse are some of the worst movies ever made, especially New Moon.
I know its been said several times this thread but: Avatar. Also District 9. It was ok, but it wasn't as amazing as everyone said it was. Don't get me wrong I liked it, it just wasn't as awesome as I was told.
Annie Hall. Widely considered among the greatest movies ever made. I consider it complete crap. Not even "just OK", "crap". Citizen Kane is good, but not the best movie ever. Not sure what to give that award to, but Kane isn't it. And I actually liked "Advent Children". Sure, the translation was junk, and the voicing was awful, but the story was solid, the graphics were great, and the fight scenes were EPIC. I actually cut together my own version, taking out about 80% of the "plot", and speeding up some of the slower fight scenes.
2001: A Space Odyessy was a great movie and it's pace was perfect. Most people say it's too slow.
I love 2001. The book. The film on the other hand, is FAR too slow, and I read the book over the course of 6 weeks.
LOTR is a bit over-rated. When speaking of technique, LOTR is quite the achievement and deserves its praise as an example of how to make movies. But something is missing. I can't quite figure out what it is, but something about this trilogy makes it feel too damn long, and some parts (like the CGI part with Legolas climbing the oliphant) really break the feel of the movies. I think Heavy Metal is a fucking amazing film. It has a score of 6.4 on IMDB but it deserves much more than that. Despite how it seems, the several different stories are actually linked to a common theme, and there is a point to the movie. Unfortunately, it eludes many people and whether that is a failure of people to understand or a failure by the artists to communicate, I don't know. Just watch it knowing the stores ARE linked, and try to figure out what they're trying to say. Inglourious Basterds was pretty meh. Even for a QT movie, this movie dragged on and on, not getting much done. It was like the milkshake/dance scene from Pulp Fiction all over again.
I liked the book, hated the movie.
The movie has a few dud scenes, but some scenes were just fucking amazing. Not amazing all the way through, but still fucking awesome. [editline]11:49PM[/editline]
8 legged freaks was a fun film
Giant spiders are always good, and hey, there's always Scarlett Johansson there if you want eyecandy.
Scarface is better than Godfather and less overrated.
I didn't like star wars.
I liked The Expendables.
It was just a ploy by Disney to whore out the series one last time, the 3D didn't work and the only reason its making any money is because Disney feeds on your nostalgia
die painfully
I liked The Spirit. A lot.
die painfully
agreed.
Scarface is better than Godfather and less overrated.
i thought the exact opposite.
I didn't like star wars.
die in a fire.
I liked The Expendables.
it was just like a generic 80's action movie, which is kind of why i liked it. but stallone definitely should have nailed the chick, arnold should have been it longer (same as bruce), and dolph should have had a better part. still, stallone is a good director/writer, but there definitely should have been some flashback stuff or a prequel to explain their relationships with each other.
Zombieland wasn't a good movie. It was ok. I never found it funny, and there weren't many memorable moments.
Zombieland wasn't a good movie. It was ok. I never found it funny, and there weren't many memorable moments.
I'm in the same boat. I liked the Bill Murray bit and all, but overall for a comedy it felt unfunny, to me.
Zombieland wasn't a good movie. It was ok. I never found it funny, and there weren't many memorable moments.
I agree, there were a few giggles, and even fewer laughs, and that's about the extent of it.
Paranormal Activity.
I am glad somebody apart from me agrees that film was shit.
I am glad somebody apart from me agrees that film was shit.
Everyone on this website thinks it's shit. It's actually not jumping on the bandwagon to like it.
I saw Apocalypse Now Redux yesterday, went on for too long, and got reeeeaaal boring towards the end. They turned Marlen Brando into a ICP lookalike.
I'm in the same boat. I liked the Bill Murray bit and all, but overall for a comedy it felt unfunny, to me.
needed more zombie and less drama/romance/comedy shit
snipped
I liked The Spirit. A lot.
I thought it was OK, definitely better than the 18% it got on RottenTomatoes, however looking back there are pretty much no scenes in it that strike me as 'good', barring the ones featuring Scarlett Johansson or Samuel L Jackson, who played the most interesting characters in the film, and pretty fucking well I might add. Also: hnnnnnnnng The bald guys were fucking retarded though, and everything else was mediocre.
Other Guys. I thought it was going to be good, and I saw it get good reviews, but I HATED it. It was boring as shit. Another movie has to be Inglorious Basterds. Everyone was telling me that it was the worst movie ever, but I watched it and LOVED it. Only problem is that it should have focused on the Basterds more.
I quite like 3D, as long as the film actually has 3D in it. [editline]10:50PM[/editline] It still costs to much though. [editline]10:51PM[/editline] Also the Phantom Menace is my favourite Star Wars movie, although this is probably because it was the first one I saw.
I hated Hurt Locker. It had no plot, the character development was non-existent, all the supposedly "suspenseful" moments were predictable, the writing was poor. I just really disliked the movie. Edit: I found Inglourious Basterds to be quite boring and jarred, it jumped around a bit and I didn't see it as being that great, though it was alright.
I agree, plus it made you dislike the protagonist enough, that you didn't really care if he got blown up or not, which really killed the suspense of the bomb defusal scenes.
Land of the Dead was a fun movie.
