Can we please stop saying "next gen"? The consoles have been out for almost 2 years now, 3 for the Wii U.
The quality of the games offered on a console is completely seperate from it's power. The Wii U is very weak compared to other next gen consoles, and thus games on it rarely would be considered next gen, even if some very good games have come out on it.
Will be interesting to see what Nintendo does with their next console. Main problem with the Wii U was the marketing, really. I've met several people who think the Wii U is an addon to the Wii. I'm so glad PC doesn't have "Last gen" and "next gen" [t]http://www.footagefirm.com/videos/description/alphaeffects/80003-3_1.jpg[/t] EXPERIENCE THE DEFINITION OF NEXT GENERATION GAMING [t]http://ak7.picdn.net/shutterstock/videos/5379353/preview/stock-footage-fire-explosion-blast-vfx-element-with-alpha-channel-matte-created-using-proprietary-cg-fluid.jpg[/t] A DEFINITIVE NEXT GEN EXPERIANCE
I'm so glad PC doesn't have "Last gen" and "next gen"
Game wise it does though. Or at least they claim to.
Game wise it does though. Or at least they claim to.
Just meaningless marketing terms.
Just meaningless marketing terms.
that's more of an anomaly of consoles and ports than anything if anything, "Next gen" on pc pretty much is only hardware, like the next GPU's, the rift, etc... up until X thing comes out, then it's current gen
Dude have you seen Bayonetta 2? That shits just as next-gen as Bloodborne, and I'm not hating on Bloodborne. Sure the WiiU isn't quite on the same level as the PS4, but definitely more powerful than the PS3.
Artistically? Very pretty technologically? last gen as fuck it's not even slightly close to bloodborne. Doesn't even have basic tessellation or shining, or light rays [t]http://gamingbolt.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/PS4-BLOODBORNE-12.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/tWRKDCc.jpg[/t] comparing any wii u game graphically to a pc or ps4 game is a terrible idea. The point of the console was to focus AWAY from only the graphics of it and be a cheaper alternative. Nintendo optimizes way better though.
Does Bloodborne have tesselation? And "also it optimizes better". What is that even supposed to mean? That's not even a measurable thing :v:
Does Bloodborne have tesselation? And "also it optimizes better". What is that even supposed to mean? That's not even a measurable thing :v:
it looks like tessellation to me at least, the bricks on the road have the same 3d look to them that is definitely not just bump-mapping I should have said Nintendo optimizes their games better, since they focus less on graphics, outside of just "Making it pretty enough" everything about Nintendo games feels tight and perfectly balanced. It feels like it runs on the system flawlessly. that's not to say others do it just as well or anything, but most games don't feel quite as nicely as theirs. Hopefully you understand.
Sure, I get what you mean. As for Bloodborne, those tiles are just regular geometry with normal mapping. Works pretty well and takes little resources.
