I'm sitting here watching the task manager for the web server, and I'm noticing this

Right now the forums have an amazing response rate, the memory usage is nice and stable, CPU usage hovering at 25% to 75%
But then...

Flat line, nothing is responding.

Then it comes back to life.
There's also a case where the memory usage jumps over 3GB, and everything slows down, but then it abruptly goes back to normal and everything chugs along once again.
I'll keep watching it.

Well, by moving to the Amazon servers, you get a LOT more protection. An attack on one server would also affect others, so you'd get the Amazon support staff helping block it. You'd also be able to temporarily add servers quickly during an attack.

You don't have to enable the whole search just turn on so you can find posts or threads of people from their profile. It was like that before the DDoS.

Simply put, several computers force a lot of data to a website, putting the internet connection and software under strain, making it unable to serve clients.

Have you ever played Burnout Crash Mode? You know what happens when you ram your car into a gigantic traffic junction? We're the traffic, the junction is the server, and that lone car is an entity capable of more than we can possibly imagine.
Is this just one 4channer using slaves to DDoS us or is it many people willingly doing it?
