Okay I tracked it down, those symbols are coming from the way me and garry are saving php files on the server.

Well I'll be, the avatars are back up again.
My computer was having problems the day before FP got DDOS'd. I asked a question in the Technical Support forum, and then the next day BOOM FP dies and I don't frequent any other forums that would have knowledgeable or whatever people to help me out. It pissed me off. :argh:
Thankfully I figured out the problem on my own later on yesterday, but still, who the fuck is an ass enough to DDOS FP when there's absolutely nothing wrong with the site and the site isn't breaking any rules/laws/any other bullshit. Fucking pricks like that should find better things to do in their spare time.
Oh, duh! Avatars weren't working because of those symbols messing it up.
Is it just me or are the subforums slow?

1. Servers got DDoSd.
2. You and Garry try to fix it.
3. Servers go up and down until it becomes stable but slow.
4. Little symbols appear in the top left while avatars are broken.
5. You find out the symbols appear because of how you and Garry were saving the php files.
6. You fix it and every thing works.
Say, anyone browse 4chan? I want to know if they can do something about this.

Servers in garry's office kept getting DDoS'd due to Facepunch, so he's relocated FP to Amazon EC2. That took awhile, and about 10 hours ago they came back online. Me and him have been tweaking it since then, I think I got a good amount of the problems fixed. The symbols aren't the source of all problems but yeah they were messing up a good deal of stuff.

i dont know about you, but it's a shitload faster for me

Yay it's back
Slow as fuck
I don't know why everyone is saying the text is big. It looks normal to me.
Still feels very slow.
In a few days we will move to a linux server with nginx and php as a fastcgi, hopefully it will improve.
