I hate xbox but i like halo
Whoever dislikes Halo but can't back up their opinions are either: A. hypocritical non-conformists disliking something simply because a large group of people they don't associate with like it. B. elitists, similar to group A, only they don't conform because they feel the game appeals to an "unintelligent audience" (ie the "frat boy" archetype) C. People who don't like the Xbox. D."insert insult to people with different opinions here" People who don't like Halo and can back up their opinions are: A. People that actually found the game not entertaining after playing it. Period. That said, a game can receive a mural. That doesn't mean it is strictly better than another game. It's a kick ass mural, but whoever has implied that Halo: Reach getting a mural makes it better than another game is fucking stupid. They don't effect the substance of either piece. Just because the subject of the mural is Halo doesn't diminish the fact that it is a very accurate and impressive painting. But, I ramble. Besides, I'm sure Bungie paid these guys quite a pretty penny. I wish I could make money off of art word. Too bad I can barely draw, let alone paint.
This thread is serious business.
in what way
Are you shitting me Combine, aliens, invade Earth
Are you shitting me Combine, aliens, invade Earth
yea but when hl2 starts the aliens have already won
yea but when hl2 starts the aliens have already won
The entire story plot stems from the fact that a large alien race invade some planet, usually Earth This is seen in both series
its clear you have not played the game
umm i've played every single half life game [editline]02:08AM[/editline]
Covenant, an army composed of different species of aliens, invades Earth (In the second game). I sense a connection... But i'm tired of fighting over this useless subject... The games and their respective companies are pretty much equals.
yeah half-life was the first alien invasion game so obviously halo is copying off of it right
to a certain extent...
It did it's own thing, get over it. People will always love the things you hate, or dislike. It is inevitable.
yet you still fight for half-life
NO videogame should receive this amount of attention... It's a mural of a fucking videogame....
You think because it is a video game, this takes away from peoples abilities to recognize it for it's qualities? A compelling story followed by deep, life-like characters in an immersive universe with breath-taking visuals and a wonderful soundtrack to back it all. It is no different than recognizing an artist for their work, a musician, an actor, or even a writer for their novel. Seeing as video games encompass all of these elements in one package, I don't see how you could deem such a thing "unworthy" of commendation.
Dwarf Fort mural. Seriously.
Dwarf Fort mural. Seriously.
Insane dwarves, and cats everywhere.
When you devote a mural to something, it should be purely for artistic merit, instead of just being another edgy, cool way for the company to advertise their game - especially if it's just another mediocre FPS. I'm not totally putting Bungie down for wanting to get their game out there, but I think there are other games with much better art direction, whose sentimentality (while Halo has practically none) would adequately survive the brevity of a painting without having to resort to generic-action-spectacle #547.
lol westfield no wonder

Augmented soldiers in super suits are so life like, being 7 feet tall and stronger than a fucking bulldozer. Immersive my ass, Heavy Rain is immersive, MGS4 is immersive. Seriously, the game is dull. Halo 1 was good because it told you what was going on, Halo 2 and 3 just blatantly said, go kill these guys, without any background info. You have to infer so many things to find out what is really going on. I was confused playing through Halo 2 and 3.
Companies can pay for whatever mural they want, there is no need for someone to claim they deserve it. [img_thumb]http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/8840/gtaivmural.jpg[/img_thumb]
Fuck yeah. :frogc00l:
umm yeah there's almost 7000 articles on the Halo wiki as opposed to almost 700 on the half life wiki have fun with your immersive storyline bro
hey lets compare wiki articles to determine gameplay quality :downs: :frog: seriously, who gives a shit about wiki articles. Just because it has a lot of wiki articles, doesn't mean its a good game. your logic is flawed.
actually no your logic is flawed hurr durr this game has no storyline even though it has thousands of in universe articles seriously get the fuck out

Technologically enhanced female soldiers in mechanized combat suits are so life-like, being 7 feet tall and stronger than a bulldozer, and having telekinetic abilities. All being bossed around by an old guy who's being controlled by a dead genetically engineered guys soul who's arm was grafted onto him after a Cyborg Ninja cut it off. Who is also leading an army of augmented soldiers who can jump off walls and leap 3-5 floors. Immersive my ass, anything that you can get immersed in is immersive. Wow you guys are fucking rude to each other, shut the fuck up who cares what someone likes, as long as they have fun who are you to complain?
Wow you guys are fucking rude to each other, shut the fuck up who cares what someone likes, as long as they have fun who are you to complain?
That's facepunch for you. If they don't like it, then they think nobody should like it, so they just whine it bitch to the people who do like it.
life-life lol. Immersive =/= Life like fucking retard. gotta love halo fanboys in here
Nice counter argument... "Oh man, that guy countered my argument with my own words, I'll call him a fucking retard!" Gotta love the Half Life "fanboys" in here, who can't see why Halo is bigger than their "Superior" series.
It's a great mural and Halo Reach is a fun game. Quit bitching over it.
They are games. Games that have good story lines. It's Halo/Half-Life fan boys like you that make a game not playable. Because if you love one game, the opposite will be against you for your opinion. Fan boys are annoying. They shoot down your video gaming opinion and claim that their opinion is better. Shut the fuck up and get over yourself. It's a VIDEO GAME, not your life. Also, don't you just love the DERAILING OF THIS THREAD?
getting off this HL vs Halo back and forth argument, Does Reach really warrent this?. I mean it was kind of a luke-warm ending to the series that (like it or not) pretty much defined console gaming for the passed decade. they retcon'd the shit out of their lore and established story to make this game fit into it and have some semblance of a point. in addtion to not trying enough to make this game stand out from the rest of series, it just doesn't seem like that big a deal. but then again it's Micro$oft.
This was such a clusterfuck of a thread. THEY'RE VIDEO GAMES. get the fuck over it.
