[sp]Well they conned us out of that plot-shift.
Can't say I'm not glad though.
Also we get new characters now.
Also lady is still adorable :3[/sp]
While it may not have anything to do with Jake the Dad, I doodled another Finn. Went from zero reference this time, so it's a little off - but overall I like the way it's turning out. I also like the way these markers work, which was the whole point of doodling Finn. I just need to get the rest of the colors I need to finish him.

The backpack on his strap should be skin tight, it looks a little wonky floating off his arm otherwise it looks a lot better than my attempts at no-reference-Finn arts :v:
nah it was definitely viola
TV is now my replacement image for Flambo. Goodbye Flambo, you served your purpose long enough.
also oh my god beemo was the best part of that episode literally every line he spouted was pure gold

She? It? Who knows.
It's voiced by a girl though.
(it's actually confirmed genderless)
Jake Jr. is voiced by someone I watch from another show. Now for a while(if the pups are reoccurring characters) I'll associate said character with Louise from Bob's Burgers. Same thing happened with Henry Jon Benjamin (from voicing Archer, to Bob in Bob's Burgers). It also doesn't help that I dislike her voice.
puppies op
Spoiler tagged for newest episode.
[sp]THEY TOOK THE EASY WAY OUT!? The weirdest way out too, but c'mon. I'm disappointed. Now the babies are older than Jake? I dunno, I expected a lot more.[/sp]
You heard the writers, all his stuff was there.

Here we are.

So much for our theory about Jake taking a back seat as a character.

I want to know the buildup to this situation.
That puppy had a familiar voice.
CRUSHED IT!
that fucking butterfly

Also Jake Jr. is Mabel

a p thorough translation
Surprise Kristen Schaal voice was pleasant surprise.
I laughed a lot harder than I should have when[sp]Jake Jr. said her first words.[/sp]But, I'm not too fond of[sp]how they kind of copped out on Jake moving back in with Finn at the end. I was actually pretty shocked when Jake said he'd be living with Lady from now on, and was wondering how that'd all work out.[/sp] I'm really hoping to see more of the kiddies in later episodes. It'd be a shame if they never appeared again. Also, [sp]It is funny, but I'm still having trouble understanding why Jake Jr. and Charlie have boy names when they're both girls![/sp]
heres a drawing I did that sucked up my whole night

its not finished, just going to bed and wanted to share it.

I dont see why anyone would have thought that, if they managed to do the lich episodes without changing the formula of the show then they could definitely do ones about jake having kids

The Lich ones are my favorite, I enjoyed the hell out of the idea of messed up stuff happening on a show networked on a children's network

Are they dark, too?
Also kinda crappy how [sp]it was all reverted back to status quo at the end of the episode[/sp]
Really wish the episodes would be less "independent" from each other, and a bit less random.
But alas
I'm just sad we won't see any more pregnant Lady anymore.
She's so friggin' cuuuute. :<
[sp]the whole "rainicorns age really fast" thing was such a lame cop out[/sp]
My brother said [sp]Jake Jr. is actually a girl?![/sp]
Can anybody confirm or deny this?
[sp]"And this sweet little lady is Jake Jr.!"[/sp]

But that's, like, the entire formula of Adventure Time. Be a bit weird if they all of a sudden switched from a purely lighthearted episodic medium of storytelling into a linear dramedy. I've got nothing against linear storytelling, it's just not what I think of when Adventure Time comes to mind, especially when you consider that it is, first and foremost, a Cartoon Network series that has to be primarily marketed towards children of a certain age group. That doesn't make the writing any less clever, but it does impart certain limitations on adjusting the format of the show, considering that most kids can't be as regularly invested in the show as a more adult crowd.
So that's basically why you Adventure Time won't, and prolly can't, deliver on the long windy arcs you guys seem to want--it's never been the nature of the show, and it never will be because it's a networked children's cartoon.
This was a terrible episode. On it's own it was thematically good, but as a whole, a massive letdown. I expected the episode to be a major changing point to the series plot, and changing the dynamic of Finn and Jake. But instead it's just "Oh, okay Jake. LETS PLAY VIDYA GAEMS BEMOO", and by the end of the episode, there was no mention of missing one another, they just move back in together as if nothing had happened. Such a big build-up for a payoff that wasn't worth it.
