They're entitled to their opinion. Not everyone will like it.
Right on just like people are entitled to waste their time reading
Right on just like people are entitled to waste their time reading
I like reading bad reviews sometimes though, it's quite funny.
http://www.aqnb.com/2012/04/23/interview-with-death-grips/ "No Love, that comes out in the fall, I’d say, is slightly more aggressive and darker." oh boy

Oi Nicolas Cage is a great actor.
Now the question will just be which Death Grips release is AOTY 2012.
http://www.nme.com/reviews/death-grips/13053 First review I've found that isn't glowing. It would be NME
I can somewhat see where they're coming from but I disagree with them. I'd rate it around an 8/10.
Saw him at Coachella, motherfucker wrecked my eardrums and I loved it.
Saw him at Coachella, motherfucker wrecked my eardrums and I loved it.
Them, you saw them at coachella give them all the credit. Yes I get like a picky cunt when it comes to death grips. You get to see Zach Hill kill it on the drums? Guys fucking brutal.
In my heavily mormon city, the vinyls were all sold out in every record store I went to, and the store I work out sold ALL of the money store CD's we had before 12:00. What is going ON
second listen is more intense, this is good shit
Not a huge fan of hip-hop or rap but I love these guys.

know what I'm sayin'!!!? [sp] the lemur is called an "Aye-Aye"[/sp]
I've pretty much fallen in love with The Money Store, and although nothing beats Guillotine, as a whole, it feels a lot more consistent and coherent, resulting and much more enjoyable listen Can't wait to see if their next release keeps up the high quality output!
Zach Hill calling this an art-pop album really resonates with what I think about it. This reminds me of The Velvet Underground for hip-hop.
I think The Money Store is one of those albums where it has some of their best and worst material. I love songs like I've Seen Footage and The Fever (Aye-Aye) and they're currently some of my favorite Death Grips songs but to be honest the latter half of the album is a tad bit boring. I though Exmilitary kept interesting enough through the whole album more than The Money Store. [editline]24th April 2012[/editline] I think I'll give it another listen. [editline]24th April 2012[/editline] Nevermind what I said, the album's really growing on me
TMS is interesting. I think there is a small string of songs I don't like on it, probably two or three in a row, but I think it's solid.
Really likin' these guys
I got the CD in the mail today! It came with a sticker, and I put it on my laptop along with a Circle Takes The Square sticker. swage
I just started listening to Death Grips. That new album, The Money Store, is pretty dope. I'd love to see this guy play live.
I'm getting my uncle's old truck from 2001 which still has a cassette player, but no CD player. You know what this means. ah fuck they're probably sold out. Still some hope for a Money Store cassette.
So, they just cancelled all shows to work on No Love, lol.
So, they just cancelled all shows to work on No Love, lol.
Good and bad at the same time. Also Shabazz Palaces was listed as similar to Death Grips, while not being exactly like them, they are in the same sort of experimental area, I like them so far.
so I paid for tickets to see them at the green door store in Brighton, what's the deal there is that cancelled because if so then I disagree Castro, it's not good and bad it's mostly bad
so I paid for tickets to see them at the green door store in Brighton, what's the deal there is that cancelled because if so then I disagree Castro, it's not good and bad it's mostly bad
everything is cancelled. the tour section from the website is gone. even the sacramento music festival show tomorrow.
will I get my money back then? Even if I do this is a really cunty move, I'd rather have live shows than two albums in a year
Got TMS on vinyl today. I'm seriously enjoying this album, but I can't really compare it to Exmilitary considering they're both so different from each other. It's going to be difficult for No Love to live up to the hype now, I think. They dropped out of touring just to work on it, and it's going to be held up against two critically acclaimed albums too. It better be something special.
Let a fellow hip hop fan hear Death Grips, fair to say he was freaked out and speechless after hearing Hustle Bones :-)
Christgau gave the album an "A Minus", what a man:
Nobody comes out and says Skrillex-as-Unabomber or Skrillex-sans-fun because Skrillex is uncool. But that's what it is: aggro keyboards by Andy Morin d/b/a Flatlander, spitfire raps by MC Ride d/b/a Stefan Burnett, and crazed drumming by Zach Hill d/b/a you-know-him-from-Hella. Hill gets the attention because you (may) know him from Hella, and also because he's always been a hyperactive math-rocker who carries many slide rules. But the key to this triad is Morin, known if at all as one of Hella's engineers. Excoriating as Burnett and Hill are, the real abrasive is Flatlander‑-the shrieking trills that attack from above toward the end of "The Fever (Aye Aye)," the armored vehicle gone haywire that is "System Blower." As for what exactly Burnett's so mad about, the booklet that comes with the physical is a great help, and anyway, why ask? In case you hadn't noticed, the title's a metonym for postmodern capitalism.
