When I watched Dune when I was a kid, I totally didn't know the fuck was going on. I only understood the people that ate the spice for a long time get the cool looking eyes
Has anyone heard the song Eraserhead by Bruce McCulloch? http://blip.fm/profile/sgrsickness/blip/13055694/Bruce_McCulloch-Eraserhead I like it for some reason. It's weird.

David Lynch, you mad ol' genius you.
Eraserhead is just fucking creepy and depressing.
I saw Eraserhead recently, easily one of my favorites now, genius movie.
Super-ultra-mega spoiler for Twin Peaks. [sp] Leland killed Laura[/sp]
My friend read David Lynch's book on meditation. It's changed his life. I am also a fan of his movies. I want to see Eraserhead in a midnight theater sometime, that would be awesome.
i remember eraserhead. i think i know what he was going for but i can't put it into words yet.
Oh god I remember Dune. This was before I had read the novel, and I had no idea what the fuck was going on about 90% of the film.
Super-ultra-mega spoiler for Twin Peaks. [sp] Leland killed Laura[/sp]
Oh fuck. Why did I read that? I have just spent £60 on that show for nothing. [editline]03:11PM[/editline] Supr, super pissed. [editline]03:16PM[/editline]
My friend read David Lynch's book on meditation. It's changed his life. Seems like the sort of person who really knows what existence is about.
I fucking love this man, and am in love with Twin Peaks. Thank you English A level exam for introducing me to Lynch! Mulholland Drive's not a bad film either :)
Don't forget the interview project he's doing at the moment. http://interviewproject.davidlynch.com/
Love your avatar...I might go for a Lynch themed one myself! Frank Booth is sort of like Darth Vader, with the breathing apparatus. Imagine this dialogue in Return of the Jedi: Darth Vader: "Baby wants to fuck! Baby wants to fuck Blue Velvet!" Luke:" ..." Darth Vader: "What are you looking at?" Luke: "Nothing". Darth Vader: "Don't you look at me, fuck!"
Mulholland Drive is my favourite film ever. She goes to sleep and dreams (the whole first third of the movie is her dream). In the dream everything is like her way. The director is having the worst day of his life, she has a great fresh start as an actor, and she and celdenfer has a great relationship. She then wakes up, feels guilty, then kills herself. Then I say, "what the fuck just happened"[/sp]

Dune sucked
I've written this comic in my head a little while ago. Unfortunately they're a lot better drawn in my head. Blue Velvet was fucked up.
i remember eraserhead. i think i know what he was going for but i can't put it into words yet.
supposedly it's an exaggeration of what he was going through at the time, as he had just found out that his wife or girlfriend had gotten pregnant.
supposedly it's an exaggeration of what he was going through at the time, as he had just found out that his wife or girlfriend had gotten pregnant.
Though a lot of people ignore/forget about the [sp]Alien sub-plot[/sp]
Though a lot of people ignore/forget about the [sp]Alien sub-plot[/sp]
i don't think it was supposed to be an alien. i think it just represented not knowing anything about children or how to raise them. then again i guess that means you could call it alien.
Notice how [sp]one of the worms falls into a puddle at the beginning, then Henry steps in it[/sp] I missed that bit first time round...
I fell asleep in the middle of Inland Empire and woke up and it wasn't even near the end. IMO, it was way too fucking long.
I fell asleep in the middle of Inland Empire and woke up and it wasn't even near the end. IMO, it was way too fucking long.
Yeah, it was. Took me two viewings to get through it, even though Lynch would disapprove.
Notice how [sp]one of the worms falls into a puddle at the beginning, then Henry steps in it[/sp] I missed that bit first time round...
i saw that but thought it was just because he probably already had a hunch that she was pregnant [editline]04:39PM[/editline] but i could be wrong, i don't think anyone other than the Lynch can or ever will fully understand the meaning behind the movie
The beginning of Eraserhead is the making of the baby, with the semen and god pulling the levers. The creepy hamster lady is death, she crushes the semen and tells Henry that she can get rid of his problems. And the baby is his fear of becoming a father etc. I don't have an idea what the rest could mean, I've read the bleeding mini chicken are menstruation. I think the movie could also be about the atom bomb, the fears people have (mutated premature baby). Though I'm just thinking that because Henry has a picture of an atomic blast next to his bed. That could mean a lot of things.

words of wisdom from David Lynch There's this kid in my class who watches movies on his Ipod nano (fourth gen) all the time. I still don't understand how you can watch movies on such a tiny screen.
