The creator of LRG died not to long ago, he was only 34. I was never a fan of LRG but I know that lots of brands I do like wouldn't be the same had LRG never existed.
My sister is in Seoul right now so I'm gonna get her to get me something from the Bape store, not that I think Bape is fashionable it's just for swag value.

Either getting this in navy or grey with a black logo or just an OG Bape t-shirt.
You're right i dont care at all about politics
You're good then
and most of the stuff that he stole were old soviet/communist propaganda posters
Not really, of the 14 examples in the article only 2 are communist propaganda

Wow, he just copied a lot of stuff, didn't he? I get his initial idea of it but it does get to a point where he's just making the same thing over and over again. Mass exposure maybe but that's just diluting it by not even being consistent.

I wouldn't say it's so much plagiarism but it's certainly gotten shit. Ripping off things is fine but almost everything he's ripping off has a different message and style and he's just pasting his OBEY over it as if it makes sense for that piece. It's gotten schizophrenic and doesn't even make sense any more.

He's literally stealing the work of actual anti-corporate activists to make money for his multimillion dollar company by selling pretend rebellion to teenagers.
Read the article, it explains it a lot better than I can.
Fairey was cool when he started, but he's a sellout now, and i'm entitled to hate that.

I was more thinking of whatever artistic value it had originally just turning to shit. The selling of it and flat out copying of others is just another level of how shit it is.

got new shades~
wow 3 dumb ratings im hurt!!
I rated you gaybow to lighten the mood :unsmith:
I wouldn't buy OBEY to be rebellious (like back when che shirts were all the rage with angsty teens but the majority of the people who wore them didn't even know who he was), to be honest I think a lot of his stuff with any sort of political propaganda message looks like ass. I didn't know that he straight up stole things like that though, thats pretty weak. Especially when it would take 5 minutes max to sketch out one of those designs, the hard part is coming up with a concept which the original artists have done and Fairey just destroys any and all original meaning. I never have considered him an artist though, I certainly don't know.
The worst part of the whole article in my opinion was when he admitted to being busted many times and he just sort of brushed it off as if it was nothing. Will I still buy OBEY? (I only ever had one shirt which I gave away because it was from an ex, call my petty if you like). Probably, but I'll be more careful and reluctant when doing so.

Brilliant! And then I won't be able to see shit! :D
Contacts don't work for me.
how can they not work
I don't like OBEY clothing, too mainstream man. Nah not really, I just don't like the clothes that much, or the "message" of the company.
[editline]7th June 2011[/editline]

What do you think? It's on sale.
Also how do you decide how to get a haircut? I have semi-longish hair and planning to cut it to something short. With summer coming around i'm contemplating on how to have it done. Basically I have no sense of what looks good or bad. Is there anyway to fix this?
how can they not work
I used to wear them in Highschool, I have a bunch in an old prescription now. They don't work for the simple fact that I don't like using them when my glasses perfectly suffice. (:

have fun looking like a greasy nerd (:
There's nothing wrong with glasses, it's just that you need to pick the right style.
Get stuff like this:

Thicker frames which are bold and kind of bring attention to your eyes.
But these are what I see the majority of the less fashionable guys wearing:

Which, are fine I suppose, if you're just relaxing at home. But when you go out, you want something that kind of makes a small statement. And you're not limited to the first image I showed either, there are tons of different thicker frame style which look fantastic. But you have to go and see which ones suit your face. A frame may be good for one person but look terrible on another. You just have to see which ones look good for you.
What about glasses like these?

[editline]7th June 2011[/editline]
And the weird design on the side is not even noticeable in person.
Depends, I suppose, on your face shape.
Looks like a medium in between the two examples I showed.

Oh?
The school I go to (Deerfield Academy) has a lot of rich, spoiled kids who come from old money, and it can be really aggravating sometimes.
