woah woah woah washington there's going hardcore "not somebody's imagination or hope..."
EVOLUTION IS REAL, THERE IS NO CHOICE
Evolution is a fact; Deal with it.
Most every school these days teaches evolution including the one I used to go to. Still, the smartest people we had were Jews and Christians so obviously you're more ignorant than they are.
Intelligence does not constitute ignorance.
Washington is by far my favorite.
I don't understand people who act like you can just say "I DON'T BELIEVE EVOLUTION EXISTS" Okay, but then you have to be denying one of two things: 1) Traits can be passed to offspring genetically 2) Things better equipped to survive in an environment survive better That's all evolution depends on to work. Which do you take issue with?
"Wuts an evolution? Ouch, my bran hurts! Me no belief!!!!!"

Holy fuck so many dense people in the video and thread seriously facepnch I expected more than THIS
That is how it works, you are just dense.
No it doesn't a theory is the best highest something can get in science a law is something else. A law can be a theory and a law can also be a hypothesis. [editline]23rd June 2011[/editline]
1: I believe in evolution. 2: My point is that it's still a theory. 3: Brilliam I don't care what you think it should be classified as, that doesn't make it not a theory.
I see nothing wrong with calling it a theory when theory is the closest thing something can get in science to fact. [editline]23rd June 2011[/editline]
A theory is a collection of facts to explain how an event occurs, a law is a collection of facts that cannot be disproven. Aka 'hard fact'.
Learn your stuff better. A theory explains an event while a law is used to predict something. In other words a law of mathematics can be used to to predict an answer while the theory of evolution explains how evolution works. Oh and in science nothing can't be proven wrong thats what makes science so great.
Still, the smartest people we had were Jews and Christians so obviously you're more ignorant than they are.
Not only is that a logical fallacy and generalizing but its also completely wrong. Grades do not mean smartness.
This thread is just begging for a certain spiderman macro
1: I believe in evolution. 2: My point is that it's still a theory. 3: Brilliam I don't care what you think it should be classified as, that doesn't make it not a theory.
When scientists say theory, they mean scientific theory, not the 'theory' as spoken in day to day life. For scientists that's called a hypothesis. A scientific theory is the highest point an idea can achieve, and it must have hard proof from multiple sources, so evolution isn't 'just' a theory.
Courtesy of the video's comments:
I believe the "flat earth theory" and the "world is a turtle shell theory" should be taught alongside the "round* world theory" so that children can see all sides of the story. Then they can choose for them selves which philosphy suits them best. After all we cant let facts get in the way of personal feelings and beliefs. We must be culturally sensitive no matter what.
There's a difference between what people used to think hundreds of years ago and what has been scientifically proven, the fact that this is highest rated comment just shows what Youtubes commenters are like.

You know, making fun of the people saying "we should teach all sides of the story and let the children decide"? And wouldn't the fact that you implied that youtubers are dumb, while not getting the message at all yourself, be astronomically ironic?

EVOLUTION IS REAL, THERE IS NO CHOICE

Too bad humans will never evolve more because the most stupid pieces of shit survive thanks to very smart people in the medical field
That Alyssa Campanella girl is very pretty, and thinks like a human. Dear god, I've never used those two words in one sentence before. [sp] and she's a redhead EEEE[/sp]
I hate how they cut her off while she was talking, and gave her a small segment. SOMETHINGS UP HERE
Intelligence does not constitute ignorance.
Ignorance means you don't know about it and if they are taught about in school and they make near perfect grades, they obviously learned what it is making them not ignorant and just choosing to believe in God.
can i get a source on the pope believing in evolution?
Wikipedia pope John Paul the II and read the references from the evolution section.
Wow, Massachusetts really looks like Yvonne Strahovski. (Sarah Walker, Chuck - Miranda Lawson, Mass Effect 2)
I don't understand why it's so hard for religious people to believe in evolution. Almost all of them still believe that children get their "properties" from their parents. They're just dumb enough not to realize the existence of evolution follows this phenomenon whether their "god" is involved or not or whether we evolved from apes or not.
Something is happening... Some of them are, are, getting smarter! [editline]23rd June 2011[/editline] Also around 3:37 "Creationi...tism"
Ignorance means you don't know about it and if they are taught about in school and they make near perfect grades, they obviously learned what it is making them not ignorant and just choosing to believe in God.
Yea but in school its more about doing the work then it is understanding it, grades do not=smartness and besides this isn't about believing in god its about believing in evolution.
Ignorance means you don't know about it and if they are taught about in school and they make near perfect grades, they obviously learned what it is making them not ignorant and just choosing to believe in God.
Doesn't matter if they're learning the wrong thing Intelligence dictates on how fast you learn or figure things out. Your viewpoint is usually based upon what you are taught or what you think is best, and if you're never exposed to anything other than what your parents or guardians want you to, or you refuse to take a viewpoint, that ends up being your view.
Even the ones that say yes say it for the wrong reasons. You have to teach evolution because it's a fundamental theory that underlines every aspect of biology. You can't possibly pursue a career in biology without properly understanding it. It doesn't matter if you refuse to accept it (not believe you don't believe in evolution you accept it) you still have to understand it because it's so fundamental. Not teaching it is like not teaching atomic structure to chemistry students or plate tectonics to earth science students it's stupid and they would lose so much understanding not knowing them.
ITT: People who have no fucking clue how science classifies things, and who should either read a fucking book or jump off a cliff.
