Just picked up a Magpul MOE pistol grip (BLK) and a Magpul RVG (vertical grip) for this gun. The idea will be to turn it into a sort of competition race gun using the JP Rifle kit. I'll have the ACOG that's coming in mounted to the receiver rail, then an additional reflex sight mounted at the 1:30 position for those closer shots. I'll keep the LE stock for now, I don't want to Magpul the crap out of this rifle like my CA.
The next step is to get a hold of a King Arms Lipo battery for a PEQ15. This is the only way I'm going to get a battery on this gun once I install the JP Rifle kit.

Why is it that every time I want to buy accessories for my weapon, Ender ends up picking the same exact parts.
I added the RVG grip and the Ladder Covers, not to mention the Magpul Dynamics DVD's to my cart today.
Ender, you read minds.
Well you don't need to worry about me buying ladder covers, just not my thing. Figured I'd try the RVG just to lighten things up, after all the AFG is a bit bulky and takes a lot of room.
I want the AFG but I'm not sure if it will fit my teeny-weeny dboy PDW.
My friend had the PDW, but I think he said the AFG wouldn't work with it. Or maybe it was something else, either way he sold it.

Damn, I saw someone use it on theirs but it required modification or something. I just don't want to waste 40 bucks :ohdear:
Honestly I think it would feel weird. I mount my AFG further than I would a vertical grip, making me feel it's designed for long rifles. I had a hard enough time putting it on a M4 length RIS and making it feel right.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing. It's just kind of funny.
The only real reason I'm getting the ladder covers, is so I can balance out the gun's two tone color. Well that and to make my R.I.S. less sharp.
I'm liking my AFG less and less. But this stupid RIS handguard won't fit any vertical grip I can find because there's not enough space between the inside part of the rail and the circular handguard.
Don't know if that makes sense, but basically the AFG is the only grip I'll be able to fit until I can get a new RIS (not anytime soon).
I'm thinking about getting the blowback one from evike. Anyone know if the blowback one is worth it?

Try the Magpul RVG. The mount is actually 2 parts, so you should be able to make it wide enough to fit your rail. It doesn't require you to slide it on.

Seen some of them in action. It's just a shiny piece of plastic moving about 8mm back and forth, no recoil at all comes from it. The gun sounds just a tad different, but not much. CA's ABS provides a much better kick and clack when you shoot it. Plus the working bolt catch is pure win.

It's gimmicky, don't bother.
Well, I really like how they look compared to the non-blowback ones. I'm not really going for the blowback itself because it's just a piece of metal like Ender said, but is there overall a huge difference between it and the regular G&G?

It's not even a piece of metal, it's just a piece of plastic. I'd like to think the charging handle pulls the bolt back though on that model, unlike mine where it doesn't even have a bolt.

Yeah, the charging handle works. I'll probably just go for it in the future and see how it goes. Can't be bad.
Bolt is metal.
Got the JP Rifle set installed and I attached the sanded down barrel extension. I've added a reflex sight at the 1:30 position on the tube with my SR25's scope on the receiver rail. I'll be replacing that with my 4x ACOG as soon as I pick it up from the post office tomorrow (stupid sister was home but didn't answer the door to sign for it, dammit). Once I put the ACOG on I'll post some pictures.
Only problem I'm having is battery placement. AEX doesn't have any KA Lipo's in stock for the PEQ15, and my current buffer tube lipos won't fit inside the handguard. Right now I'm stuck with a lipo zip tied to the outside of the handguard.
Other than that the rifle performs beautifully in it's competition rifle setup. Did some practice runs going from position to position, switching between the scope and reflex sight. It proved to be pretty easy and effective. The reflex sight is currently zeroed for 10 yards, and I'll just have to aim right of the target at longer ranges. The gun itself was pretty damn quiet to shoot, I think even quieter than my TM P90 TR w/ the foam silencer.
Wasn't it wired to the back stock, did you rewire it or was i wrong.
Wasn't it wired to the back stock, did you rewire it or was i wrong.
Nope, it was your generic M4 model with collapsible stock, so the wiring was put in the handguard. Both of my CA M15's are wired to the rear though.
Pretty much finished converting the new CM M4 into a competition style rifle. JP Rifle kit installed, Magpul RVG, and new ACOG installed. They sent me the wrong ACOG, but they sent me one that was more expensive lol. Wasn't expecting to find the red dot on top of it. Only downside is the 4x reticule isn't illuminated like the one that was advertised. But hey, I get a more expensive scope for only $90, can't bitch too much.
Only things left to do is install the Magpul MOE grip on this and figure out a way to mount the battery while keeping it protected.

FPS View. Holding a long gun and a DSLR in the other hand is not easy.

Sighting through the 4x scope, very clear. Adjustments work perfectly. Eye relief is around 1"-1 1/2" away.

Camera using the same level of zoom, this time on the red dot. The red dot turns on as soon as you take the cover off of it, there is not physical on/off switch. The brightness automatically adjust by using a small sensor in front of the sight. It works quite well, I was amazed. I can even see the dot with ease on a bright day like this. Can't say the same for my EOTechs. Downside, the left and right adjustment screw is a bit fucked up. I can only adjust the dot to the left, not to the right, so I'll have to take it apart and reset that.

Iron sights, only use when shit really hits the fan.

Overall I'm impressed with this ACOG, definitely another great buy.

I'm looking for a new flash hider. I'm taking off GI's and I'm going to replace it.
Kinda nervous since I haven't done it before.
Looks great Ender. I like what you did with it.
How much is that kit? Can you fit the battery in the handguard? I WANT ONE! :V
I bought the kit when it first came out for around $120-$140 or so. I know the price jumped a lot since I bought it. Right now they only have the Tan and OD versions of the long kit in stock. There's different length handguards as well.

And batteries won't fit inside of it, not even buffer tube lipo batteries.

So, I'd have to wire it to the back or a peq box?
Correct.
On my old CA M15A4 I just used it with a solid stock. Worked great as a DMR.

How long would the inner barrel be with the long version?
How long would the inner barrel be with the long version?
A M16 length inner barrel fits the second shortest barrel (in my case the polished silver looking one) attachment just fine, while on the shortest barrel it sticks half way through the flash hider. Currently mine still has the M4 inner barrel in there and it works fine. They also give you something like a 12" barrel extension so you could potentially use a PSG1 inner barrel.

I'm buying it from airsoftgi now. Thanks for the info, but stop making me want shit.
lol, no problem. I don't think I need to buy much more right now. If I did, you wouldn't notice it.
God, Ender I want to fucking steal your guns and run away to Mexico and come back in a year when you forget about it.
