Hello Facepunch! I'm ranting about why there is sooo many reality shows on television. There is no more tv series and shows like that. Rant here
They used to be popular and people are still trying to cash in on it.
Sad..
Look on the bright side. This year's Big Brother is the final series.
Big Brother was cancelled a few years back in Australia after a year of severe budget cuts, it appears nobody gives a fuck anymore.

I have met the runner up of the last season though, he used to live near my Granny
Look on the bright side. This year's Big Brother is the final series.
Thank god
Fat women.
because the majority of people who watch tv are teens and what teenagers want/like, the more the companies spew out and in this case it's reality shows that aren't even reality. all fake ass shit.
Fat women.
Watch those latin american soap drama shows.
I thought this in 2002. It seems like they've declined in popularity since then.
It's because reality shows are guaranteed money makers and stupid cheap to produce compared to other types of shows. Tell me what producers will be more inclined to do: A massively epic sci-fi thriller series with a stupidly deep plot, brilliant acting, awe-inspiring sets, and characters that everyone loves/relates to. OR A show where a bunch of South rednecks are forced to live in a mansion while wearing Pedobear costumes and doing a bunch of humiliating tasks (ex. get into a bar fight and the only thing you can use is a giant dildo) in order to win a lifetime supply of beer? Even if it sucks monkey nuts, they can still get a profit because the production costs are so low. Lots of people (i.e the retarded ones) watch this stuff and find it the funniest shit ever. So this is what they make.
Yea, people these days want shows that use 'ordinary people' going about their lives or do a bunch of other stuff. They want to laugh at others so badly to make up for their sucky lives
Cause people tend to like watching other people's life.
Cause people tend to like watching other people's life.
And forget about their own shitty ones (to see worse, or better).
Because it's the easiest show to make, ever. Seriously, all you do is add a fuck ton of cameras to a random area, and record people do stupid things. Throw in a billion commercials, and you earn fucktons of money on nothing.

Charlie Sheen (a member of the Screen Actors Guild) gets a million dollars per episode. On Survivor ( a bunch of yahoos trying to get their 15 minutes of fame), 10 or so people compete for 1 million dollars over a whole season. Both shows have to pay production crews and staff, but the acting is basically free on the reality show. The acting is cut and fitted to make it dramatic and they don't have to pay very many people.
