As for miku sounding bad, I don't know, I still like the voice.
The only male Vocaloid that I thing is halfway decent is Len Kagamine.

yeah i didnt mean it like that, hatsune mikus voice are really good in some songs like , last night good night and miracle paint and all her top hits, but vocaloid generally sounds bad, they dont have good voices, although some experts have made some hatsune miku songs that sound good.

HOWEVER, I'm not saying that I hate this Vocaloid software; I think that it's pretty amazing to be able to accurately synthesize a singer singing. It's pretty sweet.

Miku doesn't have a English voice bank but can be forced to sing in English but it will be using Japanese phonemes. So the Engrish accent is big. But Luka has a Japanese and English voice bank.

Personally, I think Miku is over-rated. I don't think she's bad, but some of the other vocaloids are just as good or better.
At any rate, Luka is probably my favorite at this point.
