I'm not old enough yet. :(
I live very near staffs, but obviously, I chose Keele just as everyone should. We won varisty, suckah! Actually I think maybe we lost. I'm not sure, but we won the Carphone Warehouse Student Scramble!
Keele, eh? Well if we're united in anything, it's the knowledge that we're in much nicer places to live than Stoke-on-Trent.
I am going to study Robotics & Artificial Intelligence ComSci BSc at Aberystwyth, and I got an unconditional offer and an en-suite bathroom muthafuckaaaaas Although I didn't want the en-suite accomodation; it's the most expensive. My first choice was £500 less a year :argh: but I'm happy enough to be in Aber, it's a lush place to situate a Uni; on the coast and all that. Plus the course should be neat! Can't wait :keke:
I start university on the 13th of September. Going to UCLAN (University of Central Lancashire) in Preston. Studying video game programming (http://www.uclan.ac.uk/information/courses/bsc_hons_computer_games_development.php) Where is everybody else going and what are you studying? Anybody have any tips about living at uni?
I like this thread, could be a good place to meet future friends at my future univeristy. Anyway, I'll be studying photography at Plymouth, starting Sept 20th. Examples of my work at http://www.flickr.com/photos/ninjamoosetv
Starting on a Design for Games course at Plymouth College of Art, starting on 20th September.
Awesome, someone else going to Plymouth. If anyone wants to they can PM if they're going to Plymouth too.
Have fun getting a job at the end of it guys. I'm not wasting my time with university. OH LOOK AT ME WITH MY DEGREE AND NO ACTUAL WORK EXPERIENCE AT ALL IN MY CHOSEN FIELD!
Also, best of luck to everyone going to uni this year. Have a great time
I'm going to Liverpool Uni to study Computer Information Systems, essentially its Computer Science but more applied rather than theory.
Going Manchester Met doing computing
Have fun getting a job at the end of it guys. I'm not wasting my time with university. OH LOOK AT ME WITH MY DEGREE AND NO ACTUAL WORK EXPERIENCE AT ALL IN MY CHOSEN FIELD!
Okay? A lot of courses let you take a year in industry before your 3rd year anyway, hence the 'sandwich course'. And the fuck you on about? You don't have to pick a subject you want a career in. How do you think Arts majors survive :v: (not that I have anything against the BAs, but I never hear people say they're taking a 'career in art') Work experience will get you so far, but having a degree and not being a cunt tends to help quite a lot too...
Keele, eh? Well if we're united in anything, it's the knowledge that we're in much nicer places to live than Stoke-on-Trent.
I agree, although I do live quite near stoke, which is just as bad - I live in Uttoxeter (there was a horse race thing on at the racecourse today if you follow that stuff, I went for a family do and lost a bit of money) and I almost went into Hanley tonight (one of the towns in stoke) but I had better judgement in the end! But yeah if anyone's going to Keele - first off you're awesome, and second off PM me because I've been there for a year, and especially PM me if you're looking for a house off-campus.
Have fun getting a job at the end of it guys. I'm not wasting my time with university. OH LOOK AT ME WITH MY DEGREE AND NO ACTUAL WORK EXPERIENCE AT ALL IN MY CHOSEN FIELD!
My course is designed with employment in mind, and includes a year working for or running a production company. We're Film Students, not those useless "Media Studies" kids. :v:
Don't drop the soap [editline]02:20AM[/editline] oh shit I thought you said prison
No difference
I am going to study Robotics & Artificial Intelligence ComSci BSc at Aberystwyth, and I got an unconditional offer and an en-suite bathroom muthafuckaaaaas Although I didn't want the en-suite accomodation; it's the most expensive.
No difference I am considering starting at Aberystwyth in September 2011. What's the weather like there? Going into my second year of Computer Science at Portsmouth. If there are any other Portsmouth goers here, PM me.
Anyone been to Nottingham Trent? Opinions?
I'll be studying game arts & design at the Vancouver institute of arts, Canada. I'm from Norway.
Psychology, Chichester.
Going back to London Metropolitan University for my second year to carry on Computer Animation. Looking forward to living in a house rather than shitty halls.
UCLAN doing games design v:v:v
returning for my second year at UCLan doing Graphic Design :)
Have fun getting a job at the end of it guys. I'm not wasting my time with university. OH LOOK AT ME WITH MY DEGREE AND NO ACTUAL WORK EXPERIENCE AT ALL IN MY CHOSEN FIELD!
i picked my course specifically because they offer a sandwich year to ensure that you get some experience in the industry, so shut up, you clearly have no idea what you're talking about.
And the fuck you on about? You don't have to pick a subject you want a career in.
Have fun getting a job at the end of it guys. I'm not wasting my time with university. OH LOOK AT ME WITH MY DEGREE AND NO ACTUAL WORK EXPERIENCE AT ALL IN MY CHOSEN FIELD!
because obviously you can just walk into a workplace and expect work experience without any proof that you will be worth their time.
Nottingham, anyone? Going to do philosophy.
do u want to be philosopher? [editline]05:38PM[/editline] lol
thats a funny joke
Already been to university, feel like I've wasted 3 years tbh.
I moved into my accommodation on the 6th, but my course doesnt start until the 20th so I'm just chilling in Manchester for the meanwhile. I'm doing computing.
thats a funny joke
i know right. but in all seriousness...
