I think you can start as an E-4 if your colonel recommends you
I remember making all the kids in my company run a mile. As a warm up.
They were making their way back towards the school after it, think that was the entire workout. I got pissed so I had them wrestle and that shit was hilarious. A bunch of nerdy kids rolling around in the dirt with less motor control than a baby giraffe.
Jumped in and started tossing them around. That was my last day of ROTC because the Colonel took me into his office and said I was being way too rough with the cadets and that I had to take it easy on them to boost their self-esteem and make them into capable leaders.
And the kids that go through ROTC practically get to skip the first few ranks in the real military and enter as officers. What kind of bullshit is that? The guys that actually go out there and prove themselves in battle should be officers, not the pussies that go through the program at school so they can skip the whole fighting part.
Do you know how hard it is to get into those programs. first off, they don't except you unless you have a:
GPA of 3.5 or higher
a recommendation from another military/political personnel.
Passed the ASVAB with an 80 or above.
Passed the physical conditioning examination and the PT test which consists of a 2 mile run under 14 minutes. an average of 40 push ups, 20 pull ups and 50 sit ups. All in the same day
and have x number of community service hours.
And by the way, what kind of Jrotc are you in?
When we do PT both the Sargent and the colonel are there to monitor us, and our flight commanders(which are seniors) lead us only in stretching, after that we play football or soccer or kick ball.
And the maximum we have in our cadets following orders is when we need volunteers to help put up/take down the flag. besides that, they don't talk to us, we don't talk to them
JROTC does crap. All it does is make your high school life hell, and if you do end up joining the service it only promotes you up one rank. About a billion other things do that which are not a major waste of time.

Where did you get your numbers? For the marine corps I got away with a GPA of a 2.5 and they were all over me to become an officer. You only need an asvab score of 74 to become an officer, and for the marines the PT test consists of 20 pull ups, 100 crunches in 2 minutes, and 3 miles in 18 minutes. That and me being an eagle scout merited me an automatic promotion. I know this for I ship out to basic September 13th.

Nope, only way you can go in as an E-4 (Specialist) is if you've got an Associates Degree in something, we only had a few specialists in my unit, and all of them were older.
Where did you get your numbers?
Airforce recruiter came by our school and basically gave us a run through on what we need to have to get into an airforce Rotc or the Airforce academy

Maybe that's airforce numbers, my stuff came from my recruiter.

USMC no one can start at E-4, highest you can start is E-2. Even if you were a gunnery sergeant in the Army if you joined the Marines you'd be back to private.
Do you know how hard it is to get into those programs. first off, they don't except you unless you have a:
GPA of 3.5 or higher In high school? Piss easy. I didn't do any homework and I still graduated with a 99.5 average. College ain't too hard either.
a recommendation from another military/political personnel. Easy. I never wore my uniform and never shaved, it still woulda been piss easy to go up to my Colonel and say "Hey, can I get a recommendation?"
Passed the ASVAB with an 80 or above. Never taken it, but I've know some stupid ass people that have gotten a score like that.
Passed the physical conditioning examination and the PT test which consists of a 2 mile run under 14 minutes. an average of 40 push ups, 20 pull ups and 50 sit ups. All in the same day I like how you italisized it like that is hard. Two 7 minute miles? I could do that in middle school. 40 push ups? Piss easy. 20 pull ups? Pull ups are harder for guys with more muscle mass but 20 is still feasible for the average HS football player. 50 sit ups is a joke, did about 600-700 a day in track practice.
and have x number of community service hours. Easy.
And by the way, what kind of Jrotc are you in? I was in Army.
When we do PT both the Sargent and the colonel are there to monitor us, and our flight commanders(which are seniors) lead us only in stretching, after that we play football or soccer or kick ball. You stretch and play a game. Some workout.

You basically just told me how easy it is to get into those programs and be an officer. I know a guy that is in ROTC at my college and he's a chunky, stupid dude. It's embarrassing knowing that those are the kinds of guys that become officers while the real men go and fight.
That's not even remotely funny.
It's funny how he gets banned for one day for making fun of a service man who died serving his country, but I get banned for 7 days for saying someones GMod swep sucks. :downs:

Thats fucked up shit, i knew this guy who had like a 3.9 GPA and made a 99 (highest score) on the asvab and he didn't even get through the recruiter for the Airforce Academy. Yet this spineless , cowardly bastard gets in because his daddy knows the CMSGT of the Airforce
