Woo! Down 2 pants sizes from October last year. Does it seem reasonable to set a goal of losing another 10-12kg before November? I'm currently down from 106kg to 96kg from October.
completely reasonable my friend. depending on body fat %, you can do it in a matter of 2-3 months tops.
Thanks dude! I have a kind of high body fat %, probably between 20 and 22% or so. I'm trying my hardest to drop that percentage as best as I can, but it has come down quite a bit since I started in 2011.

Before november? That gives you nearly a year, it is plenty to lose 10-12 kg, more than enough actually.
Awesome! And what about getting down to about 10-12% body fat?
i suggest you read lyle mcdonald's books, a chronic state of dieting has some unwanted side effects...
simply put, at your bodyfat levels i'll just cut carbs almost completely while engaging yourself of course in a good weight lifting routine and some cardio. when you get to about 15%, i suggest you do a full diet break (mentioned in lyle's book) just to get yourself back into hormonal balance. from there on, you'll need to start counting macro nutrients and even more so on below 10% (i suggest you watch matt ogus' videos regarding macro nutrients and his general "training and nutrition philosophy")
Ah thank you so much man, I really appreciate the help, I'll make sure I do that.
Also, with regards to Lyle McDonald's books, which one/s do you suggest I read first?
guide to flexible dieting, rapid fatloss, ketogenic, protein book and intermittent fasting (unrelated to lyle)
first one refers to as the name implies how to be flexible with your diet, why should you.
second one relates to you i suppose because you're at a high bodyfat.
ketogenic because some people benefit from that, you might be one of them, who knows. general useful information to keep the upcoming transformation permanent. knowledge is power.
third one, because it has so much unbiased, study focused information that will help you relieve some of the broscience around and keep the transformation permanent. again, knowledge is power.
fourth, is something i think everybody should try. personal preference, something that has to do with the mental aspect of food a.k.a you don't have to eat when you're hungry and the insignificance of meal frequency and timing. trying it for yourself is the best way to get it through the thick heads of the bros of 6meals a day and protein every 3 hours or you die and miss anabolic gay window.
i realised how shitty mah gains actually are (lol)
instead of 3 times a week im gonna up it to a 4 day split.
oh and my left side body is less developed than my right side. that fucking sucks. and im halting so hard now it's not even funny, havent gotten any gains in months.
need to eat more grr
oh and my left side body is less developed than my right side. that fucking sucks. and im halting so hard now it's not even funny, havent gotten any gains in months.
Isn't it like that for everyone?
Like, my right bicep is more developed than my left bicep, right pec is more developed than left pec, etc.
it's with everyone however that doesn't make it less significant though. it's something to look out for when designing your training.... if my left leg is weaker than my right and i am not actively trying to fix that then i am forever bound to a shakey squat. discrepancies are warranted, sure, the question is how much between each extremity? a squat, a deadlift are all whole, full body lifts and if you're imbalanced then you're reducing your potential obviously by limiting and disregarding that fact.

Its the obliques that is the problem in a way, or the core more to say. I can see the serratus better on my right side then on my left.

It's sort of the same here.
Anyway guys, do you know how many months of going to the gym it takes for your muscles to show some kind of shape.
Been going for around 5 months now and it's really demoralizing to constantly lift heavier weights with muscle performance progress and no visual progress.

Cut that body fat percentage m8, you won't be defined if you've still got a layer of fat lard all over your muscles.

Doesn't the fat burn off naturally when i go to the gym?
I'm at around 14-15% body fat atm.
if your only physical activity is the gym, then yes, you will "naturally" lose fat. Generally, it's more of a calories in versus out ...

What's wrong with the term ''naturally''?
Anyway, gym isn't my only physical activity, PE and swimming both once a week and metabolic exercises with a trainer around two times a week.
height: 178cm
weight: 106kg
1rm
bp:160kg
deadlift: dont know
squat: dont know

odd use of the word 'naturally' in that context. Also, a sarcastic attempt in which i repeat said word to emphasize it's irrelevance in that context.

Well by going to the gym, i lift, and that builds muscles.
But it also burns fat, and by building my muscles up i am naturally burning fat, aren't i?
by building muscle your increase your calorie expenditure. That's it.

You might be eating more shit than you're burning though.

Nah.
I'm slowly losing more weight and gaining more mass, but the only problem is that i don't want to lose so much weight to the point where my ribs show.

Well I'm definitely improving. Whatcha guys think?
you're making progress but why not have a neutral stance that doesnt focus on angles? a front shot and a side shot would be fine

It's like 2 weeks back, but I have only made a few improvements since then anyway.
