Lemme get this straight. They were welded into the hull? What actually happened? Would the hull shape around his hand? Would it be crushed, or what?
Well, since matter cannot share the same space, I'm assuming the hand would get deformed before the ship would, due to density properties. So, I'd assume that parts of the hand/wrist were either pushed more towards the hand, or more towards the arm.

It would also be pretty tight, making human movements impossible.
It would also hurt. A lot.
Yeah.

That, or the hull and the crew member would subdivide or something, splitting apart certain areas to fuse together with the hull.

Yeah.
Indeed it would be tight and hurt. The fact that it's going so close to the atoms used in the ship, it probably forms a weak bond, meaning the hand wouldn't fall, but it wouldn't be connected to the rest of the body.
Indeed.

I'm going to draw an illustration for that tomorrow.

RE: Time Travel paradoxes.
1st. Why don't we see visitors from the future?
INVISIBILITY! No shit Stephen Hawking said it himself. In fact we're fairly close to developing invisibility now (google it)
2. Wouldn't time travel fuck up the history and shizzle?
No. The current accepted theory states that if you create a paradox you will enter a parallel universe where what you changed was always part of history.
I.E. You go back in time and kill your parents before your born, instead of dividing by 0 and creating a PIME TARADOX, what actually happens is that the people you killed, while being identical to your parents in every possible way, they never gave birth to you. Physics of the Impossible by Michio Kaku is good for stuff like this

Is it a book? Must read.
Is it a book? Must read.
Yes it's a book. He's a very good author
Americans are too dumb to do something like this, therefore it's bullshit

Stereotypes are fun

Yeah they are

I've heard about the parallel dimension theory. For every action that you have a choice in, there is a dimension that you did something else. Say I had to choose vanilla ice cream, or chocolate ice cream. There would be a time dimension for both choices, and any other choice action that could have followed.

The problem is the variation is so VAST, it could be as simple as the way you pick up the ice cream, to where you shove the cone in your eye and violently rape the cashier.

Even peanut ice-cream??
:ohdear:

Yeah. What baffles me most about this theory, is the TINY changes that have an entire universe devoted to them. For example I have a plug sitting near me, it's theoretically possible that there's a parrallel universe EXACTLY the same, but that plug is broken. Think of all the possible combinations of universes. it's pretty mind-boggling.

The meddling of time in relativity to the universe is very complicated and mind boggling.
We were being theoretical, well I was.
If a time-traveler set off at the speed of light, he would arrive at his destination before having left.
Can you imagine how much that act would mess up physics, its impossible.
Yeah, well, according to our theory of physics. I'm certain that there's more into it, who knows, maybe we have got it all wrong.
time travel doesn't work because time is not a vector force
you can't change its direction like velocity.
this is rudimentary physics, guys.
[editline]03:23PM[/editline]
^that's for back in time
forward in time, i don't know.

give me clocks for time travel

Or a single grain of sand with one less molecule :psyboom:

"In a universe, where one grain of sand has one less mole- In another universe, where that same grain of sand has twice as much conte- In another universe, where sand doesn't exist."

Ah, so all the scientists are wrong, thanks for informing us, they'll all go home and get real jobs now.
I'm going forward in time 1 second per second.

You madman! You don't know what you're doing!
The nazis need to come back. When they were around all kinds of cool shit was made.

I'm liking the post/avatar link here.
Somebody used the setpos command on that ship.
