Actually Lars' random swinging was him playing baby-air-tennis. Then after he saw Deep Purple he figured that he could use it for drumming.
Has anyone noticed how appropriate the title and lyrics of "I Disappear" are for Metallica at the time that the song was released? It was their last song the appear on the "Hot 100" list until "The Day That Never Comes" and then there's the line "Just as soon as I belong, then it's time I disappear", Jason left shortly afterwards...
