Phil was a coward, he was afraid to take time off cause he was scared that they would find someone to replace him. If he had proper treatment, he wouldn't have turned to heroin. He wouldn't have OD'd. There wouldn't have been the tension (at least for a longer time), they would have stayed together, bigger venues, more security, no chance for Gale to access the stage.

Back to the point though.
Kill 'Em All rules, period :colbert:

They got Fuel, Sanitarium, Whiplash, Evil, Remorse, Fade.
When i went to Manchester i got Bellz, and that was IT, from RTL, not even Fade, or Ride, anything.
We got Turn the Page in the middle of the set, i was so pissed. We got 3 covers that night..

I don't think they like Jump too much, remember that video where Lars had to get the CD to remember the song? Think it may have been a Mustaine song?
at least they played the prince
and they still play JITF pretty often if memory serves. I do remember they had to re-learn it but I mean it was one of the TWO singles off of Kill 'em All so you'd think that'd stand for something.
also be happy you got to hear The Prince. Killer song. Be upset you got stuck with a shitload of DM songs
[editline]08:30AM[/editline]
but yeah it was a mustaine song but so was 1/2 of the material from that album including four horsemen.

I'm pretty sure he only recieved writing credit for like 4 songs, 4 horsemen, phantom lord, jump and militia. But i honestly think he contributed quite less to Militia, it just doesn't sound like a Mustaine song, where-as the other 3 do. And Phantom Lord was Hets idea anyway, Mustaine didn't write it, he just helped with that one.
But in terms of that set i posted... I really enjoyed the Prince don't get me wrong, and Blitzkreig, but fucking turn the page mid set. That could have been Fade, or Creeping death or anything else. But i saw them in 09, fairly early 09, february, and it was one of their first shows in europe; so i expected ALOT of DM and i got it. 6 songs out of 21 from one album isn't too bad, but i would massively enjoyed the set if i got at least one "classic" from RTL; as people in the thread know, i don't rate Bellz highly at all. Creeping, Ride or Fade would have been so much more awesome, and would have made the whole set better. That and having and justice or beholder or something crazy instead of blackened.
Man i'd LOVE and KILL to hear them play Eye of the Beholder, i fuckin love that song.
I would literally die to see them

nope read mustaine's book those songs were pretty much all him besides phantom lord. mustaine also says motorbreath wasn't written by hetfield
I mean he is a co-writer on the song Ride the Lightning as well, which you would think hadn't really wrote, but in later interviews he shows he wrote every single note of the song pretty much (even though he no longer even remember what song the parts were for).
It seems that without Mustaine, they wouldn't have gotten as far as they did in their early years.
However, I would sell my soul to Satan (Dio) to see Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Iron Maiden, etc. to all play together.

To be honest i don't really like the guy. I'm thankful for his work in metallica and megadeth but he kind of pissed me off over the years with alot of whining and bitching in the same way Axl Rose does. But i do like him. Enough mustaine talk anyway. I know he wrote the spider chord in RTL (the song), but at the end of the day, it's one word against another. I'm sure Papa Het will say "i wrote it" and dave will say "i wrote it". There's no way to ever really KNOW the truth. Meh.

Really, both sides just need to grow up and be honest about this kinda shit. The whole "I wrote it" "No, I wrote it" stuff is wearing thin.
It doesn't matter if you like it or not. The point I was trying to make is he knew he invented that chord and talked about the chord sliding in the main riff of the song without even knowing what song he was talking about. He clearly wrote it.
[editline]02:47AM[/editline]
also the only time they argued about WHO wrote something was with Leper Messiah. Past that, with the clear exception of Phantom Lord, all songs with Dave credited were written 90% by dave

Oh yeah, i'm not arguing with you. I'm just saying what Bryce said (it wears thin after so many years) the whole fued ended a way back and fans still battle about it to this day, but whatever.

Surely seeing James and Dave hug onstage at the Big Four show would have been good enough evidence that the feud is over.
One and Tuesday gone is probably my favorite from Metallica

Tuesdays Gone had other band's people in it though, but I can agree.
Has anyone still got that cartoony picture where Dave Mustaine pulls a troll face and says "Mechanix" to Metallica?

No, but I do know what you're talking about. Hopefully someone else has it saved.
Metallica as... [B]LED ZEPPELIN![/B]
