Except Bon Scott fucking sucked and couldn't sing to save his life.
Seriously, his voice irritates me so much it makes me want to punch things when I hear it.
Cliff Burton was great at what he did - especially for his time.
To hell with who he influenced, just look at a song like Orion. Go ahead, you play that - fingers only. Cliff had talent, whether he died or not is completely fucking irrelevant.
If you think bon scott sucks there is something wrong with you.
along with anyone else that doesn't like AC/DC
It doesn't matter how overplayed or popular they are, they are rock gods. Respekt
Seek and Destroy is the best live Metallica song
Probably the best Metallica song. Just such an amazing fun song, it's brilliant.
Damn. They played tonight in Perth, watching videos from last night, I'm extremely annoyed at myself for not bothering to go.

Anyone can play it if they practice enough. What was great about him and metallica was that they created the music. And that is talent.
Cliff wasn't an amazing bassist - he was pretty good and talented, yes, but he gets too much credit for what he did.

Creeping Death > Seek and Destroy live for so many reasons
Creeping Death > Seek and Destroy live for so many reasons
Especially when Jason was still in the band.
So I went to a Metallica concert last week.
I was so tired the next day I got in trouble for sleeping in class.
Especially when Jason was still in the band.
+1
Its good that jason left because it was a catalyst so sort out the problem within the band, but damnnn, his vocals and general playing style was so awesome.
also, how many days till the dvd comes out? Im really looking forward to it.
Comes out Nov 2 I think.
Big Four live you mean yeah?
Just heard One on the radio. The harmonized solo at the end was very low in volume and a bit lacking. Tested my suspicion out and ends up they were playing a mono version of One in which a lot of phase cancellation happens with the harmonized guitars at the end. Guess the mixer didn't notice or think about it. Then again, it's a long song, so they probably didn't think it out get any radio time.
Woohoo, I get to see Metallica this thursday!!!

Enjoy, be sure to report your setlist back here.
I was going to see them but don't have the money. I've already seen them once this year so I'm not missing out or anything.
Enjoy, be sure to report your setlist back here.
I will. They've played Orion 4 times during this leg of the tour, hopefully they'll do it again on thursday.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF I strongly dislike you just for that possibility. I would have killed to get Orion and Ride The Lightning in my set but NOOOOOOOOOO, we had to get The Unforgiven instead...
Going to see Lamb of God/Metallica within the next hour. Fuck yeah.
Going to see Lamb of God/Metallica within the next hour. Fuck yeah.
You cannot fathom how much I dislike you right now. I saw them with Machine Head but I showed up in time for only half of Machine Head's set. Then the LoG/Metallica tour was announced the following winter and I was piss broke. I raged so hard.
Machine Head are pretty crap anyway
Machine Head are pretty crap anyway
What makes you say that? I love 'em, I just would rather see Lamb of God infinitely more.
I've always thought they had a very watered down sound, for the most part at least. They're like a worse Pantera and I never thought Pantera were very good
Lamb of God are great though

That I can see, though their watered down sound probably came from shitty equipment. The Blackening and Through The Ashes of Empires were great, production AND song wise.
Pantera I'm very on/off with. Some of their songs I absolutely love, others I don't really care for.
Lamb of God is fucking god damn incredible jesus christ they alone made going to Mayhemfest worth the price and trip (had to go from NY to CT for it).
Who else is opening (or is it just Lamb of God)?
Indeed I like the combo of seeing Metallica and LoG live.
With a little of Mastodon on it too.

their first album and latest albums are good
everything else is garbage
lamb of god is boring

Agreed on Machine Head, disagreed on Lamb of God.
So, we'll call this a tie.

get out
I couldn't really get into Lamb of God because their songs had a feeling of sameness. I think I listened to a few of their albums, and all the songs felt the same. May just be me though. I'm the kind of person that seems to gravitate towards bands that make very different sounding songs. I despised Pearl Jam after listening to one of their albums and all of it sounded like the same song with different lyrics. I don't like a lot of metal bands because their stuff just sounds too much of the same. Metallica seems to do a good job of varying their songs.
I got some video clips from the show last night. I didn't manage to get any decent clips of LoG though, couldn't get my camera working for a while, but i was there for the whole set, didn't miss a second, fucking awesome.
Ears are still ringing, sign of a good night

I just watched a video about cliff's death.
It isn't even the fact that the bus crushed him. It's the fact that trying to save him the bus crushed him again.

This. Absolutely, this.
Cliff, that beastly motherfucker, was alive after getting crushed by the fucking tour bus, until an incompetent rescue team dropped it on him AGAIN.
