6 LPs for a vinyl album is fucking absurd. 3 or 4 sides will be covered with studio outtakes and other shit no one will want to listen to
I'd buy vinyls just for the huge artwork, but I don't even have a proper place to store them.
6 LPs is nonsense
3 LPs is also being made.
is also being made what?
The standard version is 3LPs but theres another version with 6. I don't really understand it either...
The standard version is 3LPs but theres another version with 6. I don't really understand it either...
"Here's the album on vinyl, and here's the super special ultra limited edition with random extras version of the album on vinyl!" Most likely, that.
i like how no matter the music metallica made, the lyrics were always well written. they are truly excellent at writing lyrics if anything.
lyric writing =/= songwriting
It's half of the equation though
i like how no matter the music metallica made, the lyrics were always well written. they are truly excellent at writing lyrics if anything.
I would agree with you for the most part up to Death Magnetic. "Love is a four letter word" "What doesn't kill you makes you more strong" You wrote Fade to Black, man :frog:
maybe he is getting senile in his old age~
I would agree with you for the most part up to Death Magnetic. "Love is a four letter word" "What doesn't kill you makes you more strong" You wrote Fade to Black, man :frog:
its not an excellent album, but its a great thrash comeback. I think small mistakes like that make it through the crack in most albums put out by any band, maybe in the form of an off key note that gets unnoticed. but in this case a bad lyrics or two besides, the "love" is a four letter word thing has to have some deeper meaning. it could mean there is no love in this place. as "four letter word" can mean a vulgar word with 4 letters. [editline]18th February 2011[/editline]
Love is a four letter word! Here in this prison! I suffer this no longer! I'll put an end to,
there is no love here in this prison, is the point that is being brought across. love may not be in the sense of a person you love, but just general everyday "love" at home where you can go places without being hated, as opposed to where soldiers go (assuming the music video does actually correspond with the song and not some bullshit like that.)
See, the band relies on fans as crazy as you to invent meanings for the lyrics they pulled out of their asses, because they know that someone will do it for them
well when you take on line out of context you can make a lot seem stupid "Nothing matters, no one else" ok?
Lyrics you posted = ambiguous Lyrics I posted = shit ambiguous =/= shit
See, the band relies on fans as crazy as you to invent meanings for the lyrics they pulled out of their asses, because they know that someone will do it for them
I don't know what you're on....... x is a four letter word is a reasonably well known saying. They didn't just pull it out of their asses [editline]19th February 2011[/editline]
See, the band relies on fans as crazy as you to invent meanings for the lyrics they pulled out of their asses, because they know that someone will do it for them
No because it makes sense. Love toward the soldier is a Vulgarity that doesn't exist where the soldier is. Did you even look up what four letter word meant before you declares the lyrics as shit?
Lyrics you posted = ambiguous Lyrics I posted = shit ambiguous =/= shit
on what basis? in context they look fine. jesus
"Love is a four letter word And never spoken here Love is a four letter word Here in this prison" "Life it seems will fade away Drifting further every day Getting lost within myself Nothing matters, no one else" I don't get your point, the first is still poorly written in context. But I don't even know what we're debating anymore
it works fine in the context of the song, and so does the lyrics I posted. I don't know what makes you think that's a bad set of lyrics. Just because it's a cliche saying? lol

Like the above person said in the context of the song it makes sense and its a good line. You obviously didn't look up the meaning of itbefore you posted its shit and you are now trying to pull straws to save your argument Plus your comparing it to one of their best written songs which is probably why you perceive it as shit If I compare sandman to creeping death creeping will win. If you compare sanitarium to creeping death its a close call

To engage in argument by discussing opposing points. I think it's a poor lyric. You disagree. Debate. Just because we both think the other side is an idiot doesn't alter that fact. So you're saying that because something is accepted as a idiom means it makes an effective lyric? So I can write a song and put any old saying into it and it is immune to argument? The fact that Fade to Black is one of their best songs is largely irrelevant. I picked it because I like the song and Vedicardi made me bring up my point further. Overall Metallica's lyrics remain relatively solid, with the exception of the latest album. In my opinion. It may make sense, I never debated that, but it does not make it interesting or effective. You can think all you want that it is effectively written but I will not agree with you. Until you present something worthwhile past the fact that "oh other people say it so it's fine", I will continue to disagree with you.
i already brought up the meaning (love is a vulgarity), the context (toward a soldier in a foreign war) and how it can be interpreted (meaning and context). i never said "x likes it and y likes it so i must like it"
That meaning is incredibly interpreted, but truth be told I don't really care

It's blunt, uninspiring and not particularly effective. But I'm not really in any mood to continue an argument so feel free to chalk your side up for a win
look at me i'm a winner
look at me i'm a winner
\were both winners for some reason people on fp never want to admit that the other is right
